Sooooo I don't know who's been talking to Kyan at all, but he's been trying to figure out what's going on with the Tachyon storm. Apparently, he's thinking now maybe we shouldn't try to outrun it. He's not scared of it anymore, apparently, and since the data in it is so organized he's wondering if it's carrying information about something...?
I don't really know what that could mean, but considering we're trying to outrun the thing (and sort of failing at the moment), I feel like this is probably important.

[Not that it really matters to him, since he can just run away to Liminal Space, but its the principle of the thing.]

[he has perfect memory, but he's not totally sure he got the gist of what was being said in the first place.]

Good. That's way too much risk.
On the other hand, if a couple of us wanted to steal an Outrider and wait for it...

... Assuming this is like flying in a windstorm, and not like something entirely different.
If we sent the outriders as scouts, they can't fly fast enough to be useful. And the Corona is uninhabitable.
[She's thinking about it.]
I'll go talk to Kyan myself. And someone should find an engineer and get them to tell us if we can even last until the storm.

Alright. I'll try and find the engineers. [he has a few things to ask them anyway...]

And if not... there might be some that got left behind when everyone evacuated the Corona. Assuming we could get to them without, you know, dying.

I'm not really in the mood to be a guinea pig for someone's curiosity today.

Depends on what they're curious about.

She'll tell you when you're older]We're talking purely hypothetical here? [Maybe] Say someone had a new trick they wanted to try out, but they needed a partner. Or a beautiful assistant.
In that case, I'd be willing to step aside and let them take the spotlight for the sake of friendship.

[A pause. First, to let that sink in--even if she was very clearly joking around--and second, to allow time to transition back to her original point:]
Unless Tachyon Storms are involved. Then all bets are off.

[Kind of makes her wonder why the guy would bother suggesting it in the first place if he knew there were so many lives at stake.]
I mean, I suppose he deserves a point for initiative. ...well, maybe half a point.

Even if it's not something we try to do, I hope he's right.

It...wouldn't be the worst surprise a Jaunt's ever thrown at us.

I mean, pending doom and all that aside.

At least we didn't get caught in the process, though, because that would have been really awkward to try to explain.
[Speaking of experiments and guinea pigs....]

It's probably better I show you in person. Meet up next Liminal?
