Is it normal to run into things in Jaunts that are eerily familiar once you come out of the overlay? It's not just that I had brothers... whose names were really close or the same as my actual brothers... and then they got kidnapped.

[And she's really more annoyed than upset about that. Why does that keep happening even in other universes?]

It was the Masters at the Sun Temple. At least half of them had names I learned in history class, and I'm definitely not from that world. Master Yoda even used the same training methods that the Yoda in my world used to teach my uncle. And now I'm wondering if he really did sound like that.

I can't be the first person this has happened to, right?

Um... sometimes things can be kind of similiar, or at least it's been that way for me, but I don't think I've ever dealt with anything that familiar. [even though the 'being a literal shadow' hit waaay too close to home for comfort.]

Actually, I think Bai of the Sentai clan was the first time my overlay's immediate birth family wasn't my own in another guise, for what it's worth.

It's happened. To the extent that one of my infiltrator selves mistook an investigator for someone he'd known for years. Twice.

I've been three people--although one of them I've been twice. All three times people from my universe showed up. Chouko's family didn't have any clear analogues of mine, but some of my sire's, uh, vampire colleagues showed up as people she and her younger brother ended up working for prior to Nova Venezia. Charoite's parents and older brother were, uh, alien versions of mine, but I don't think anyone else I knew showed up on Hecate.

My last one... not only were Charlene Fruosino's parents and older brother versions of my own again, but some of my friends showed up as people she'd fought side by side with ten years prior.

... which wouldn't be so bad if all of them weren't dead at the time I was her.

That would be... hard. My uncle was dead, but he was around as a really persistent spirit. It... kinda made me glad that Uncle Luke doesn't take quite that much of an interest.

...now that you mention it, one of the ninjas I was in charge of was just a younger version of an uncle I never got along with.

I've had a few really similar people, but nothing quite that obviously close before.

I had one jaunt were my friends from home were translated over to my... counterpart's history. But really, when we're dealing with so many alternate worlds I think reality starts to have some quirks we need to just sorta deal with. Like how many folks are from different versions of Earth?

The one time someone else from my world was Traveling with us she was definitely not-- Elphaba wasn't the Wicked Witch of the West I know from history. And apparently that stuff that's history for me is fairy tales on Earth, so you see how complicated it can get.

Considering I just found out that apparently my parents' lives are a "fictional" movie in a bunch of versions of Earth and no one was planning to tell me that... yeah, I'm starting to see how complicated it can be.
