Freakout Time [Maybe 2 hours into the new liminal]

[Not long after liminal changes over, but with time enough for the psychic network to start quietly bubbling again, a voice is broadcast into the fray: and that voice is loud.

For once, it isn't Jules. Instead, it's a teenage girl's voice, and while emotions and tone don't translate over the network without a little more experience than she's had, it's still pretty obviously as much of a scream as one can make when one is brand new:]

GET OUT OF MY HEAD!!!

[ Cass isn't shouting, but it's pretty sharp and a little irritated ]

[Cass's response is a little rambly, though at least not as loud, so there's that? Even without emotion or tone it's probably obvious it's panicked.]

[ ...ah. Great. Cass is SO not the person to do this, especially over the network (which she generally tunes out as best she can), but she can't just leave this girl scared and assume someone else will sort her out. ]

We're... not in. Just... words. Talking. Like, um... a phone?

Phones aren't in people's heads! Only Hiskott was ever in my head! But he's dead! Who are you and why are you in my head??

Cass. I... don't like people in... my head, either.

But it can't... hurt you. Just talking. Sometimes... pictures?

[ there's the distinct sense that she's sighing deeply ]

I'm not... good at this. Sorry.

[There's a baby crying in her head now-- not Cass's, too, thankfully, just directed at the source of what woke little Rose up-- and that's a little hard to tie to a psychotic telepathic alien.

So she's calming down. Some.]

How did it happen though? What's going on here?

I... don't know. I can... find someone to... explain?

I'm not good... with words.

[ If she wants more explanation, Cass will fetch her girlfriend for actual coherent discussion. ]

No, I... it's okay. There's other people talking, too, and I think they're gonna explain.

Are you, uh. Are you okay?

[Because that is some weird stilted thought-ness, there.]

Good.

[ And then that question, which sparks a little spike of confusion from the older girl - look, when she can't SEE people, it's harder to figure out what they're thinking about, okay? ]

...Yes?

Just, you know. Making sure. I don't know how this thing works, but you sort of don't talk like anybody else who's talking in my head? That's probably rude to say. Sorry. But it's still true.

Oh. [ Right, she noticed that talking thing. ] I don't speak... well. It's... new. To me. Learning to.. speak. But... I'm fine.

Oh. Geez, I'm sorry. That really was rude, then. So was screaming at you. Uh, sorry about that, too.

[volving]

[ She laughs, softly ] It's fine. I don't... mind. Especially since... you stopped screaming.

Yeah, that's probably a good thing. Not screaming. I promise I won't do that again. It was just the surprise and stuff.
