Freakout Time [Maybe 2 hours into the new liminal]
[Not long after liminal changes over, but with time enough for the psychic network to start quietly bubbling again, a voice is broadcast into the fray: and that voice is loud.
For once, it isn't Jules. Instead, it's a teenage girl's voice, and while emotions and tone don't translate over the network without a little more experience than she's had, it's still pretty obviously as much of a scream as one can make when one is brand new:]
GET OUT OF MY HEAD!!!

GET OUT OF MY HEAD!!!

[ Cass isn't shouting, but it's pretty sharp and a little irritated ]
Can't. Don't yell!

Get out get out get out I won't let you have me get out!

We're... not in. Just... words. Talking. Like, um... a phone?

The baby is sleeping.

What does a baby have to do with anything! Get out of my head! Get out get out!
[And now she's hearing the baby crying, too, because while Rose usually keeps it to people she knows and loves, Jolie is the one disturbing her so Jolie gets to enjoy the results of her folly, too.]
no subject
You're broadcasting to the entire network. The baby is on the network. The baby is now awake.
no subject
What-- what's the network?
[They had one of those in Ryslig, but it was nothing like this.]

I'm in your head, back??
[There's a pause as she looks around wildly, but no, she's not inside anybody. She's shadowy, but not possessing anyone.]
But I'm not! I wouldn't, never again, I made a promise-- unless somebody does it to me on accident!
no subject
[Unlike her, he's had the practice necessary to project his voice in truth, and the cadences it's falling into are measured, gentle, meant specifically to project calm.]
I'm hearing the thoughts you project. That's all. You can't hurt me, and I can't hurt you.
no subject
What's happening? I thought-- where is this? Why are you hearing my thoughts? And me hearing yours?

[She pauses, still on edge, but able to at least recognize:]
... you weren't one of the ones I heard first though. I don't know how this works. I just heard voices in my head and it freaked me out, okay!
[She's still freaked out. But she's calming down a little. There's enough people talking to her now that she's sure this isn't some kind of new mind control ability or something.]

[Phedre remembers her own fear, and keeps her mental presence as soothing as possible]
You are not dead. You have been transported to a place called Liminal Space, overseen by powerful beings called the Trumps. Even death, here, is fleeting. We are connected by a network of thoughts, and while I know it can be frustrating and feel invasive...we are not actually able to leave your head, as it were.
However, you can learn to wall off the thoughts, set them aside in a portion of your mind, and ignore them...for the most part.
I am Phedre. If you tell me where you are, I will come to you, and I will help you as I am able. In the meantime, you must breathe.
no subject
A little. She's still not at all composed. She's just not shouting and ranting and rambling anymore. And she definitely fixates on one part of that.]
How? How can I wall it off? I'm in-- I'm in some big weird room with lots of rocks in it. Kind of-- kind of back in a corner.
no subject
What color are the rocks? [there is more than one room in this Liminal with rocks, although Phedre suspects the young thing is in the Geode room]

[How's it feel to be on the receiving end of screaming panic, Jules?]

[Is...is this what it feels like to be the calm one? Even if he's freaking out and kind of yelling as he does so?]
