rubbish lion who can't deal with things yay

[Well, at least there's one person on the network who isn't yelling. Far from it, actually, though he's always in the mood for a fight. But today, Hamilton's mental voice is a little woozy. Tired-sounding, really, and certainly it's not because he hasn't been sleeping the past few days. That would be completely ridiculous.

It's rare that he asks for help. But this month, he might need a little, if only as distraction.]

Okay, folks. Book recommendations, if you got any that I can read around here. Or if there're any about wherever y'all are from. Or, hell, I dunno, I'd appreciate a loan of a quill and some paper. I gotta do something, and there ain't a treasury to mind or a newspaper to run here.

I could bring you over some Jane Austen novels--I mean, I'm pretty sure you're not so much of a snob to refuse a book just 'cause it's a novel. And I'd really think you'd like them if you gave them the chance. Plus, they were written within a decade or two of your time, which probably helps in terms of the language they were written in and stuff like that.

Jason can back me up on them being awesome. He likes her stuff.

You'd be surprised how many novels were written by ladies, actually. They just usually didn't put their names on them in your day.

I just might do that, yeah.

[It's something besides burrowing deeper under a blanket and trying to tune out the thousand psychic messages of stupid... although this one wasn't bad compared to some of the others. Not actually bad at all.]

Thorne has read me some of Lady Austen's work! They're the most wonderful of novels!

Eliza might like them as well, they're splendid romances.

If it helps, think of them as scathing critiques of the class system and of the circumscribed role of women in society, with a romantic coating to make them go down easier.

No, really. Austen's amazing.

My sister would probably like them. I would as well, if it comes to it. Alexander, share them with me when you're done?
