Hello, sorry, Lyall here. Do all of you recall that vision I had of the dividing wall between us during the last month or so of liminal space? How it was a very literal sign of what was to come?

It's happened again. I had another one. And it's being about as persistent as the first one, so I'm guessing it's important. I can share it directly if anyone would like me to, but in summary, I believe there's something out there beyond the reefs. I saw dark water, well below the level of the reefs, and a large, pale, diseased something. All I saw was a wall of flesh, that was then obscured by bubbles, and then it went even darker. Like it dove away.

I don't know if we need to find it to stop it, or find it to help it. But I do think we need to find it, if just to keep it from coming here.

... also, I am still making earplugs, for those who are finding the noise difficult to bear. I'm not sure if it will help entirely, but it can't hurt. If anyone wants to try and distribute them to people who trust them and might need them, please let me know, I'll get you a few pairs.

Yes, please don't use your weapon in the ocean. Saltwater conducts even better than clear water, and while it may be a good idea to neutralize whatever this is-- it might not be, I don't know yet-- I'd rather not do it at the expense of everyone else around you, as well.

If there's one thing I know, it's electricity. I'm not gonna cause a mermaid fry, don't worry. [Possibly one of her electromagnetic rock things from Nova Venezia would be useful here, if she can rig it with a time delay...]

We need more information before we can really set a course of action anyway.

Right. I do believe we ought to at least investigate. I'm, er. Not sure if I ought to be going or not. I can't exactly breathe underwater, but usually if I see a vision it's something I'm supposed to do something about. Or at least experience.

[He doesn't want to jeopardy the whole mission by going-- or not going.]

Well, I mean, we can't rule out someone livestreaming 'oh hey it's a zombie whale, check this shit out' when we do investigate. But if we can get a Siren along, I'm pretty sure one of the Songs would take care of the breathing part.

We'll figure it out one way or another.

Bringing a Siren would require a local. Or... Lupa, I suppose. He can Sing, can't he? Though I'm not sure how that particular magic works, if it includes more than one person at a time.

I'm not sure either.

Hopefully the locals will let us pitch in with dealing with the damn thing either way. I don't think any one group has enough firepower.

Hopefully. You're closer to the mermaid population than I am. The most interaction I've had is passing out earplugs, and going wolf on one of them who was keeping the Colonel hostage, a few days back. Not the best perception to work with.

[Though with luck, none of them will put "polite blonde human" together with "angry sandy-furred wolf".]

So do you think they'll let us help?

I'd call it a hard maybe. They'd probably sooner work with us than the Pulao school, just because our only tie to the person they all ran from is ostensibly 'also running away from her.'

Fair point. I do think we'll have to leave negotiating that mostly up to those of you who also have fins, as much as I'd like to help. I don't really think the suggestion coming from a human will go over nearly as well as a "hard maybe".
