[Unsurprisingly, almost as soon as everyone returns to Liminal Space after the Jaunt, there's screaming on the network again. At least he's had the presence of mind to filter it from Rose this time.]

I'd offer to like, drown our sorrows together with drinks or something, but I think everyone else would kill me if I got ahold of booze again after this.

[She doesn't really need to eat right now, either - her yoma side drastically reduces her need to eat, and she'd done so the day before the Jaunt ended - but she doesn't have the heart to tell him that.]

[Time passes, and he'll be waiting for her. He seems a little quieter than usual, but he's meeting her with a little wave.]

[Cassandra automatically waves back, wondering if she should be concerned about his relative quietness. It's understandable given what his overlay had done, but it's hard not to worry about him regardless.]

So...uh...sandwiches? I can try making some...

[He scratches his head. He did not think this through very well.]

You ever try a muffaletta?

...I don't know what that is.

[They're not off to a good start, are they?]

It's...um...a sandwich, and it's on round bread...

[He is off to just the best start.]

We don't really... have sandwiches in my world. But I've seen them on Jaunts.

Can you make food now? I can do it, but I don't know if I would get the details correct.

Yeah, yeah, I can!

It's on a big round roll, and it's got salami and ham and some cheese and then this olive relish stuff...

[He is creating the sandwich as he speaks.]

[The meat could be a problem. Cassandra's not been able to eat meat since her dungeon; Priscilla's own pre-Awakening aversion to it had transferred to her, along with the memory of the ordeal that had precipitated it. Alexandra, of course, had eaten nothing but, and the memories of her doing so have frankly been making Cassandra a little ill. But this is Jules, and he's hurting, and he's trying to do something nice for her, so she'll just have to manage.]

Did you eat them a lot before you were brought here?

[If he knew, he'd be scrambling to work out some kind of vegetarian option. The cheese and olives are good enough, right?]

Not super often, but every now and then, you know?

[The sandwich is kind of large, but he produces a knife, cuts off part of it, and offers some to her before cutting some for himself.]
