Arcana-talk time [A day or two into the new liminal]

We're still assuming that the liminal space before a Jaunt represents the Arcana competing in it, yes? I know someone's mentioned this earlier, but it definitely needs to be highlighted-- I think it's pretty obvious this time that the contest will be between Chariot and Tower. The giant wooden horse running through a thunderstorm really couldn't be more blatant. For once.

[He's not great at understanding symbolism, but damn if this wasn't an easy one.]

So if that's right, it'll be a contest of motion and persistence, versus dramatic change and catastrophe. I think it's easy enough to decide who we want to support, in this case. We'll just have to find ways to make sure we see what sort of conditions make for a win for each ideal.

Any ideas for what to look for and how to keep things from devolving into a catastrophe? Those seem to happen a lot when we're around, unfortunately.

Why do you say that? Are you more concerned about them when they're infiltrators, or do you simply give yourself away by trying to interact with them?

I give myself away. Last time I couldn't come up with a believable story after encountering someone... and my mind thought I as with the person rather than with a person who looked like them.

You won't be the first to give themselves away, and I doubt you will either be the last. But now you know what that feeling is like, and I'm sure you'll be better prepared this time.

I wouldn't be so sure. I think it's still better if I don't even try to... well, investigate. Not on my own at least.

I... know. Sometimes I just find it hard to trust anyone. Especially when fears gets involved. I should try to be more open, I'm aware.

I understand. If you don't feel comfortable asking for support, some of us will simply have to be there for you just in case, in case you need it.

Randolph Lyall. It's a pleasure to meet you. And I doubt it will be too much an inconvenience. I'm both a werewolf and a teacher: pack creatures, both. Keeping an eye on people in case they need something is rather my default state.

A werewolf? Like the ones we met in Sarmatia?

I should be probably be more like a pack person as a soldier... perhaps in time, I'll learn to trust people more.

That's what it takes, time and people who can support that trust. I think at least some of us here can be the latter.

Yes, though. A bit like those werewolves, though I live much longer than they do, and technically I had to die to become one, whereas they can get by with spells or a poisoned bite. I'm most like a warwolf, in that I go mad and try to kill people if I'm out on a Jaunt on the full moon, but I've been able to avoid that by staying in liminal space for that night every time we've been on a Jaunt. It's quite convenient.

Getting to access liminal space from Jaunts is often a lifesaver... and at least the worlds have set dates for full moons.

[Meanwhile in Liminal, we don't usually even know what day it is.]
