Arcana-talk time [A day or two into the new liminal]

We're still assuming that the liminal space before a Jaunt represents the Arcana competing in it, yes? I know someone's mentioned this earlier, but it definitely needs to be highlighted-- I think it's pretty obvious this time that the contest will be between Chariot and Tower. The giant wooden horse running through a thunderstorm really couldn't be more blatant. For once.

[He's not great at understanding symbolism, but damn if this wasn't an easy one.]

So if that's right, it'll be a contest of motion and persistence, versus dramatic change and catastrophe. I think it's easy enough to decide who we want to support, in this case. We'll just have to find ways to make sure we see what sort of conditions make for a win for each ideal.

Any ideas for what to look for and how to keep things from devolving into a catastrophe? Those seem to happen a lot when we're around, unfortunately.

We would need support from at least one of the Arcana, and time, at a minimum. Time is especially in short supply because you're right; we are active. Even if everyone agreed to return to Liminal and wait, our arrival and then subsequent disappearance would catch the attention of someone and start change.

That's true, but when one is increased, the others end up diminished in comparison; it's still not balanced. I would be wary of a universe where Emperor had won singly for that very fact. I've seen too much of the terrible side of order, authority and status quo.

[Riddick has been listening in on this, but not speaking up. Until now.]

Last time we all sat out on a Jaunt, decided not to play along, we got dumped into Moebius next turn. To teach us a lesson. You really wanna try that again?

[There’s a long silence as Lupa thinks that over. Now that he is sitting down to think about it, he remembers a conversation he’d listened to with a little wince that communicates in his tone. Looking back, perhaps he should have been more careful about his wording.]

I didn’t mean to present it as a suggestion of a good way to handle being sent to worlds in the first place, but thank you for pointing out a more direct consequence to such actions.

Hey, if it were just me or just a handful of us likely to be punished, then I'd say go for it. A lot of us can take it. But we got kids here. I'm not gonna let them go through anything like Moebius.
