Arcana-talk time [A day or two into the new liminal]

We're still assuming that the liminal space before a Jaunt represents the Arcana competing in it, yes? I know someone's mentioned this earlier, but it definitely needs to be highlighted-- I think it's pretty obvious this time that the contest will be between Chariot and Tower. The giant wooden horse running through a thunderstorm really couldn't be more blatant. For once.

[He's not great at understanding symbolism, but damn if this wasn't an easy one.]

So if that's right, it'll be a contest of motion and persistence, versus dramatic change and catastrophe. I think it's easy enough to decide who we want to support, in this case. We'll just have to find ways to make sure we see what sort of conditions make for a win for each ideal.

Any ideas for what to look for and how to keep things from devolving into a catastrophe? Those seem to happen a lot when we're around, unfortunately.

I don't believe the arcana is directly connected to me. Just the fact that Bando was such a mess with it around doesn't make me very positive about the next... and knowing that will just make me nervous and likely mess up.

[He rather likes it when he doesn't know who's responsible for Jaunts, as crazy as it sounds.]

-=he's quiet a moment, but when he speaks again it's in softer tones=-

Perhaps you are looking at the situation too narrowly. Tower is not the only arcana involved, and there is no way to know what our mission will be until we are there. View the situation in terms more broad than you are. There are many Travelers here now that had not been there then, perspectives and variables that you cannot hope to account for. Even the world itself is unlikely to be the same.

Tower is but one piece of a much larger puzzle.

[Jean is quiet for a very long time, not sure what to say for the longest while.]

I know I shouldn't think like this before anything even starts. It's just hard with my mind throwing in my past mistakes and feelings towards myself.

That alone is not necessarily a bad thing, even if it pains the heart to do so. The biggest mistake you can make is to lose yourself in the pain of your past. You will miss much that needs your attention now.

I guess... I've already made that mistake. Several times.

[At least hasn't missed anything too crucial, at least he doesn't think so.]

It is a very easy mistake to make.

-=the way he says it belies a great deal of experience=-

It can be difficult not to, but if you have those you love then you owe it to them as much as yourself to remain in the now, with them.

... you're right. It's not fair for anyone if I keep looking at the past, huh?

I'll at least try to keep my head held high and... deal with things as they come.

Nor is it fair to yourself.

Accepting things as they are is the least we can do.

I think I needed a reminder of that. Thank you.
