Progress Report B. [Day Two]

[Companion/follow-up to this]

[Another day, another half of it spent meeting with Titans who could tear him asunder with the barest whim. But no pressure, right?]

I
[The first of the day, third in the series, comes shortly after when sunrise should be, a third memory comes to light. Kinji only vaguely recognises Shinjiro - he's never met this Traveller personally - but others surely will.]

II
[And, finally, around midday, the fourth and final memory is deposited. Kinji doesn't know this guy from a bar of soap, apart from the unfortunate squirm of discomfort when he remembers he already encountered this one as well. He doesn't know that this one's not technically a Traveller in the same sense as he and the others are. He just spends the chat being nervous about not getting in on this plan at the final step.]

... Shit. Okay, that sounds bad. But it's Prometheus...

[No. Stop. He can't assume it's the same.]

Right. Be... very, very careful. Prometheus, classically, is very wise. Whatever he's doing, he has a reason - or at least he thinks he does. Do your best to not lie around him... if you can.

... Right. Sorry. Still getting the hang of some of this. I just... ugh. I can see why he'd be really pissed off at the gods.

[Why this...]

I think a lot of it really depends on who they're planning on replacing the gods with. In a world like this, where something like the sun and moon's paths are set by supernatural things, no gods might be worse.

... How long do you think it'll be until they force the issue?

... Great. The longer this goes on the more people will die. And staying still and letting everything burn down seems pretty much - we're sure Tower's competing on this one, right?

Yeah... I'm hesitant to go look for them just because I don't know that they'd like a foreign demigod in their affairs. Kinda... lost as to what to do other than try to keep the peace.

If we have to settle on a plan, and the Titans are looking for recruits, then making sure they find as many recruits who care about people as we can, and making sure they win quickly, might be our best course of action.

There's a lot of that going around...

I am wary of handing the keys to godhood to those hastily chosen, especially by us, who do not live here or share in the daily struggles of the people.

What if we told the people? Not all, but only that there are new immortals ready to take their seats, and that the people should make it known what sort of gods they would like to have.

[ It's weird and unusually democratic, and worship is not quite the same as electing an official, but he's at a loss as to how to give the people more agency. It's the best idea he's got right now. ]
theflyingone: i'm always this serious (dead on)

We will not be telling them that immortality is available, nor where to find it. We can also likely get away with not telling them that it is mortals who are becoming gods. Simply announcing that a new pantheon is forming will be enough. They already see that the world is ending. I think they will be comforted to know that they have a chance to prevent it from ending in destruction, even if it is just by praying aloud or holding a festival in the name of peace, something to make the old gods and new take notice.

May I speak with you in private to refine such a plan? I agree that in broad strokes it is our best chance to aid Achaea and thwart the Tower. Whichever order you place those lofty goals in.

Yes. I prefer to speak in person rather than here anyway. Where are you? I am just outside Iolchis at the moment, beyond the camps, but I can ride.

[ He figures not everyone knows how to ride horses, so he may come to her. ]

At the camp of the Cult to Hebe. You will find me dressed as a priestess, bearing a torch and helping to light fires. I enjoy my symbolism, what can I say?

Look for the Eastern scholar on a brown horse.
