[A few days into the Liminal, Jean has a question to make.]

Is there anyone who could help me learn how to make created spaces permanent? I've created a stable for my Spirit Animal to stay in, and it would be great if I could make them permanent, in case she's left behind while I'm on a jaunt...

That said, anyone who has a horse, or other animals who like staying in stables, you're welcome to house yours there. There are several stalls and I make sure there's enough hay and water around. Guaranteed daily cleaning as well, or else Captain Levi will have my head...

There are three of the same squad here with me, who are all my important friends. We've known each other since training days.

Our commanding officers used to be around, but that was a long time ago.

Good. I'm glad you have some friend who understand what you're going through. If you ever want to talk, though, like I said. Door's open. I'd like to hear more about your planet sometime anyway. Sounds like it must be a pretty rough place to grow up.

Yeah. I'm really glad and really lucky that I'm not here alone. [Even with all the friends he's made from 'other worlds', he wouldn't know what to do without them.]

I'd warn you in advance that it's not a very nice tale... but I guess you already have that suspicion.

Yeah, I’d gathered. That’s okay. We don’t have a lot of control over that sort of thing, and whether it’s happy or not, it happened. There’s no changing that now. We’ve just got to deal with it. And sometimes that works best when you have a team of friends to help you.

That's definitely true. While we don't always talk about things back home, it's... still assuring to know you can turn to someone who knows.

You’re not alone. Sometimes that’s what you need above anything else. It can hit pretty hard with no warning. Reach out when you need it, no matter what you think. You’re always worth it, and people would rather come see you than find out later that they could have helped and didn’t.

I've learned that the hard way, I'm afraid. Sometimes my pride makes me want to solve everything on my own to the point where I only make it worse.

Pretty normal human instinct. You’re not alone with that one either. [At least the cadence sounds more wryly amused than worried.] Don’t know about you, but we get taught to be self-reliant and that requesting help somehow makes us weak. I’d like to shake whoever made that old adage.

I think for us it's viewed stupid to try and survive on your own. There are very few who can actually pull a stunt like that... that is, I don't run into battle solo, if I don't absolutely have to.

Smart move. Especially if you don't have back up, that can be a death sentence.

Back up or a lot of luck, really. There have been times when just sheer luck has been on my side in battle.

Yeah. I know the feeling. Look, Matt's waking up and I need to devote my attention to him, but if you want to talk more later, I'm open to it. And I still want to do that briefing when we can, ok?
