So um. Just how much are worlds we go to like the ones we came from?

Like, you know, this is California. I just figured that out. But there aren't any cities in California called Santa Carlita, that I remember. But it's still California, so some things are the same.

Maybe we're somehow closer to the Arcana than a lot of other species? Like, it's easier for them to understand and communicate with us? We already know how difficult that is for them, maybe that's a consideration in who gets chosen.

Random within certain confines. Random among the people who were eligible. But I don't think we were ever clear on what that eligibility meant.
