Considering some of the suspicions regarding the possible nature of our next Jaunt destination, it seems that it would be wise to remind everyone - and to inform those who have had very little experience with Traveling - that it is possible to learn how to shield your thoughts from outside intrusion. It may not be perfectly effective against intrusion originating outside the Network, but should provide some protection, and will help insulate your mind against your fellow Travelers. I would be willing to teach the method to anyone who has not yet had the chance to learn it, though I will warn you that some facility with telepathic communication is usually necessary to put the concepts into practice.

There are also methods by which psychic damage can be eased, and potentially fully healed, though it is not a simple process. I have some experience with this, and I believe there are several others who have practice in the techniques as well, if they are willing to identify themselves in case anyone requires aid, whether now or in the future.

I heard your response to Riddick. Have you learned how to restore an Infiltrator to themself as well?

Not yet. But I think that's one I'm really going to want, if everyone's right. As long as I'm myself to offer it.

That is always the sticking point, isn't it? But if you wish to learn the technique, I would be willing to teach you.

I would. I know it needs fairly strong psychic foundations, so it's going to be harder than protection to get people up to speed with quickly.

Quite a bit harder. Do you have experience with sharing memories with other Travelers?

Yeah, Phillip showed me how to do that a while ago.

And have you ever drawn a memory from another person's mind using the Network?

I try to avoid doing it but... I can.

Are you able to read or affect someone's mind without their cooperation? It is an unfortunate necessity if you wish to retrieve a Traveler's identity from within the Infiltration.

I didn't mean to figure out how to do that one, but I did. I avoid it when it's not an emergency, but... emergencies happen and probably will happen if we're going there.

It does seem likely if the theories regarding our next destination are correct.

In principle, restoring an Infiltrator's identity is similar to reading another person's memory. But instead of looking for their recollection of a single point in time, you look for the sense of the Traveler, and draw them out.

Precisely. It may be difficult if the Infiltration is a particularly good match, but it should be possible to still find the edges of the core Traveler.
