[OOC: backdated to a few days after the beginning of Lotus Liminal while Jean is still sleeping but ~~just before~~ his dreamspace happens.]

So, anyone know why someone just keeps on sleeping like he might just --- sleep through the whole Liminal time if this continues? Or any ideas how to wake him up? Besides waiting, I'm doing plenty of waiting already and sure, it's most likely waiting for something to happen but... Oh, I guess also ideas of what to do while I'm waiting.

[Not that she's keeping an eye on him 24/7, no she can come up with things to do on her own! ...But guess who is bored of waiting even when she's not that impatient these days?? So, what's this? Pretend like she doesn't already know that it's about waiting and have fun with the entertaining ideas? Something like that, maybe.]

I think my envy of Jean's sleeping skills is gone by now and no, he hasn't even been anywhere near the marshmallows and he's nowhere near them now either.

I guess this is the do-you-want-to-know-if-you-die-soon corner. And just a general horns-up of the dangers ahead of us. I'm sorry I missed one, I might have been asleep. I've got to sleep some time.

There's a driver in a car labeled 'TAXI' going apeshit bananas and running people over. I haven't seen it happen here before, so I'm assuming this is unusual. The driver eats it eventually, but not before terrorizing his passengers and clipping some guy with facial stubble. I mean, a lot of humans have facial growths, but anyway...

Now I get to see if I can add onto my own posts as the deaths roll in. But I suspect the Network had some features turned off, like how Liminal Space just kind of... packed itself up. Very neatly. Not suspicious at all. That's sarcasm, I know it's hard to tell with how the Network is right now.

Greetings, aliens. I'm the Ψiioniic. You can call me Psii, but don't get cocky. [[ He immediately proceeds to get cocky. ]] Considering all the disturbing-as-fuck things I've heard on this Network since I got here, I have a proposition for you. Let's talk about dying.

First, no one's going to die in the immediate future. I think. Say, the next few nights? Second, I'm here to offer my... services... as a... clairvoyant. [[ A couple seconds' pause. ]] I have visions of future deaths. I can warn you or your quadrantmates about them. No, you can't prevent the hideous or embarrassing ways in which you will die. But you can do yourselves a favor and get your shit in order. I accept payment in food, electronic parts, and lessons on how to... make stuff out of thin air? That's a thing here apparently.

If the next Jaunt's as dangerous as you all say, it's going to be a bloodbath. Try not to die in stupid ways. I have to watch that shit.

Hokay, so. Now is the time for a network announcement that has nothing to do with ‘holy shit possibly Harrogate,’ other than I can share the load of beefing up mental firewalls. Otherwise network-fu isn’t so much my thing. Instead, I have a couple follow-ups to Riddick’s ‘hey we can turn Liminal Space into usable electricity’ discovery.

Thing One, during the last jaunt I figured out how to properly wire my rooms, so you can bring your own plugs. The downside is I think it has a measurable limit in terms of energy output, so I didn’t rewire the server room for Liminal Intranet. That’s still on… hell, I don’t know, cognitive power? I expect it to work so it works?

Thing Two, and slightly scarier: It’s possible to draw some serious shock power out of Liminal Space, if you play your cards right. The really bad news here is that shock power is measurable in milli-amps. Very Important Safety Lesson, guys – amps can absolutely seriously hurt or kill people. I’m reasonably sure anything fatal would take a deliberate effort, but it would be very easy to contact-paralyze someone by accident.

I’m not here to tell people not to chase it in the first place or whatever. Just… be careful. It’s one thing to have another weapon in your arsenal and another thing entirely to risk accidentally Flooring someone.

Considering some of the suspicions regarding the possible nature of our next Jaunt destination, it seems that it would be wise to remind everyone - and to inform those who have had very little experience with Traveling - that it is possible to learn how to shield your thoughts from outside intrusion. It may not be perfectly effective against intrusion originating outside the Network, but should provide some protection, and will help insulate your mind against your fellow Travelers. I would be willing to teach the method to anyone who has not yet had the chance to learn it, though I will warn you that some facility with telepathic communication is usually necessary to put the concepts into practice.

There are also methods by which psychic damage can be eased, and potentially fully healed, though it is not a simple process. I have some experience with this, and I believe there are several others who have practice in the techniques as well, if they are willing to identify themselves in case anyone requires aid, whether now or in the future.
