Magician said they can, in theory, drop us off anywhere on the Vale but Stricken-Star, because they don't have anchors there.

I can't figure out what she means by 'anchors.' Anyone else have any ideas?

To anyone who knew her, Pidge Holt is gone. Hopefully whatever dungeon she's in is kind to her.

[That's it. He just had to be the one to tell everyone himself.]

Hey, guys. Matt Holt here after respawning.

First, can someone kick that fire-bitch for me? She poisoned Pica and killed him. Don't know who she actually is, but she's going around killing people.

Second, I never actually thought I'd get to say this, but... sounds like y'all need a rocket scientist.

My specialty's hacking and communications, so let me know where I can be the most helpful.

So which half of Liminal was going to help with Shiro's replacement arm, again? Apparently it's time to get the ball rolling on that.

There's something I've been thinking about since the Walkabout. The gear Brockengard's Hunters used to bring down their prey is almost exactly the same as the gear used to fight Titans in the world I'm from. I know that's probably a coincidence, but I still ended up comparing the two worlds. Except in Brockengard, humans have already been wiped out. And the "extinct animals" were definitely humans. I was there when the skeletons were found and saw them myself.

But even though there are no more humans in that world, there are still people there. A lot of small animals started becoming intelligent around the same time the last humans died. I keep wondering... Did the animals start becoming intelligent because the humans were gone? And if they did, is that something that could happen in other worlds too? If all the people of a world die out, but there's still life there, is it normal for a new kind of people to appear to take their place?

[Despite the melancholy subject, Eren's mental voice sounds almost hopeful.]

[There's a not-so quiet freaking out on the network when everyone gets back to Liminal Space. It's worried babble at first, but after about half a second, there's an utter shriek of shouting.]

... Why the fuck is my entire arm silver?! Oh, stars above, how the hell do I get this off?! Can I get this off?

I'll do the cooking show after the Jaunt, I didn't have time to prepare it, but...

What's this I hear about Tower falling?
forcechanic: (Contemplation)

This is probably a word question. Then again, we're used to overlays making us think about weird things, right? Even if the reasons are big and complicated. So... can anyone teach me how to braid hair? It's something I probably should have actually bothered learning a long time...

Princess Leia hair. If it means something to you, I'm trying to figure out a simpler version of Princess Leia hair.

[Close on the heels of the witch's hat unfolding...]

There's something that troubles me about our last deployment.

[There would be more than one thing, if she'd been on the Jaunt proper, but the Walkabout had been relatively peaceful, much to her surprise upon returning to herself.]

While most of our number were elsewhere [no proper noun here; they haven't been back long enough for the usual gossip to have a chance to make the rounds], the rest of us were returned to the universe of Questing Country. Not to the dream realm itself - at least not in our full numbers, though I wouldn't be surprised if a few people took the time to visit. Still, unless I've missed something in the library, that would be our fifth return to that particular universe in some capacity.

[Sixth, if you're counting the strange half-Jaunts following Fortune's resurrection, which she isn't just yet.]

Leaving aside the concern that the Arcana's reason for revisiting that place might be similar to our last visit... It might be time for us to start looking more closely at the other places we Travel to, to see if we can find further connections. Our pool of destinations could be smaller than we've been assuming.

[And about an hour later comes a separate, shorter broadcast, this one sounding baffled rather than concerned.]

Where did these creatures come from? They're adorable, but they're everywhere.

[Including on the walls. Why are there small fluffy things on the walls?]

[Here's a psychic voice that the old-time Travellers haven't heard - or experienced? - before. There's an air of calm determination to the words.
Newer-era ones will be far more likely to recognise the tone.]

Yo, alright. Kanji here, checkin' in - just arrived from over Walkabout with some friends to lend a hand. Heard you folks are sticking it to the man by... re-stealin' a bunch of cows? Am I getting that right? Could use a bit of filling in.

But I ... [want to make the trip worth it, don't want to have run out on people for no good reason] wanna do something if I can. Uh, I do communications - hacking, sorta, and signal crap, or I can go bust a few goons down if they need busting. Hope that's useful somewhere...

So yeah. Good to ... be here?
verdeleonessa: (Ahehehe)

So, I have good news and bad news.

[She should probably just message Matt and maybe Zarkon and Alfor, but... what the heck, let everyone hear.]

The good would be that I found Shiro, Keith and Lotor. All in one place!

[Wohoo!]

The bad would be that we're all in jail.

I'm working on getting us out of here though, if we don't get released. We did kinda bunch cops in the face so they might not want to let us out and... yeah.

I swore never again with cows. And it's even cows on a frontier colony. Don't suppose there's a chance of it switching them over to beagles...

[But he's getting off topic]

Most kids don't get any milk once it's not from their Mama. That's bad.

Rose and I are both investigating and are looking to work out who else is too. So far this doesn't seem too different from home. Closer to Earth That Was, but the resemblance is still uncanny.

Everyone be sure to dress warm up here.

[Matt might be good at the network, but that doesn't mean he has complete control over his thoughts. Sometimes things slip through. But in this case, it's probably for the better.]

Oh, for the love of space peas, that's it!

[He pauses, and then sets out to make slightly more coherent comments. Standing in front of a mirror, at first all people can see is a detailed star chart. Anyone who is familiar with stars from earth would know this isn't exactly a view from Earth, but it's similar.]

So, I totally forgot that I got blessed with visions or hallucinations or something like that, but I had a... something of a star field. I don't know if I was there or in a planetarium or what, but I drew it out.

And then I realized. This is the star field as seen from Mars. I'd be a crap Garrison graduate if I couldn't figure that one out. So, uh, on top of everything else that's going on, we're going to Mars.

I haven't been there myself, but my dad's told me a lot about it, so I can help. I hope.

This is Anafiel Delaunay, lately of the Walkabout. I was told of the plague of Trojans here by Naoki and so I have come to lend my aid in whatever way I might. I have also brought Sakuya Tachibana, a healer of no mean skill, in hopes that he might be able to treat the computer disease.

If anyone can tell us how we might help, please do. I am not a healer myself, but I have spent some time as a soldier in my youth. I am willing to follow instruction.

I guess this is as good as time as any to announce a project I'm working on Intranet.

I'm putting together a calendar. An accurate calendar of what date it is in Liminal Space - or well, as accurate as it can be through created spaces. I know you might think this is impossible, but it's not, if you follow certain readings and edit some coding to match them and make sure your ticks are counted correctly... Currently, it's March 2nd.

That being said, I can insert everyone's birthdays onto the calendar so we can celebrate you accordingly. Of course, this is no way mandatory if you'd rather keep your birthdays a secret. And you don't need to tell us your age either.

It's not completely ready yet, but I can start putting up the birthdays while I make final adjustments.

Though one day I will find a way to count time in Liminal Space proper, just you wait.

So, uh, yeah, this is Jules, I'm, ah, back to myself, no longer re-living my teenage years only about a thousand times more obnoxious and in the future. Sorry about all the pop-ups and Rickrolls and all that crap. You know how teenagers are--no subtlety with the meme game.

So what all have I missed while I was trolling?

[Is that birdsong on the Jaunt network? To start with, at least, before-]

Right, Piyo, I'm getting there!

[...cheep. chpee? hpeec. chp!]

[A slightly stressed Kanji speaks up again, though hiding it better now-] Uh. Hey. So everyone's... companions've started talkin' nonsense, ain't they? I mean. We all kinda heard Ryo.
Was wonderin' what sorta messages everyone's getting. If it actually means anything... I know that stuff gets cryptic sometimes, but this is kinda ... taking all the cakes. Still. It's got me thinking. Started when the Glatasshole got beaten, right? So what changed there?

...Ow! Peckin' me ain't clear communication either!

Although I know that clean-up from the battle with the Glatisant and the message gleaned from its remains is likely of the utmost importance as of now--as well as the matter of the unintelligible Familiars and Spirit Companions--I do have some news that I hope will aid in improving the lot of the Adversaries of the earliest era.

Before her vocabulary became limited to a single word, the vixen who attached herself to me instructed me on how I might use Oracular knowledge to glean further knowledge on Sanctions. What I have learned is this:

These Sanctions use the power of existing bonds between people, either the ones doing the Sanctioning or those bonded with the person Sanctioned. As these bonds are real in the Realm of Dreams, they can prevent action just as well as rope or shackles might--although 'tis only acts with intention they can prevent, not accidental acts, for it is the dream of action that they prevent.

They can be entered into willingly and with consent, but unless that consent was explicitly and deliberately part of that Sanction, rescinding consent would not break the Sanction.

After learning this, I wished to know more of how one would break the Sanctions and Fidelite, who was then still in possession of her full vocabulary, advised me to build a Dreamcatcher and have it gather energy in the Questing Country of the earliest era for roughly a week. Fortunately, I was already there after the bridge broke.

Shortly before the battle started, my Dreamcatcher was deemed sufficiently filled by my still-coherent Familiar, and now that the fighting has concluded, I have had time to look within to see what might break the Sanctions. That information was granted to me in a series of three visions:

The first, of bitter and acrimonious arguments between Champions and Oracles, leading to the severing of a bond group, also severing all Sanctions they created.

The second, of a cabal of Adversaries furtively meeting, banding together, forming a fresh bond--overwriting the Sanction with the energy of their alliance.

And the third and most intriguing, of a heavy, metal-hafted mace, light wavering around its head like one reads in reports of desert mirages.
