I have the list for Travelers who have gone out of ambit. I haven't given this list for quite some time, given the extended period between the last two jaunts.

[There's no preamble - he doesn't like doing this and hasn't had a good week. He doesn't have anything to say he thinks people would want to hear, not right now.]

[And indeed, it takes him less than a minute to make his way to wherever she is. When he reaches her, he goes down on one knee to be on her level, and opens his arms, inviting a hug.]

[Pearl easily accepts it, hugging him quite tightly for a girl of her size. She's sure if they try hard enough, then Maria will be ok. But...]

[As soon as she accepts it he wraps his arms around her, holding her tightly for as long as she needs him to.]

[She'll stay there for a while, hiccuping a little before pulling back and wiping her eyes on her long sleeves.] ...We'll both look for her, right?

[He nods seriously at her, one hand still comfortingly on her shoulder.] Right. We'll check for her every day.

[She nods, sniffling.] Yeah. ...She'll be ok.

[Armin just looks at her for a long moment, serious and sad, before he squeezes her shoulder gently in encouragement.]

...Are you hungry?

[He's given her a hug, but he doesn't feel like he should leave her just yet, unless she wants him to.]

[Pearl pauses, before nodding.] A little bit...

[Not super hungry, but... she doesn't really want him to go either.]

I have some soup in my hammerspace, as well as some bread and jerky. Would you like to share them with me?

[She nods.] Thank you very much.

You're very welcome. [He sits down where he is, legs crossed, and takes them out of his hammerspace - the mug of soup still lightly steaming - along with a bottle of water and a couple small glasses.]

I only have one plate, and one bowl for the soup - is that all right, Pearl? [He gives her a small smile - not really happy, but hoping to maybe brighten her mood a little.]

[She sits with him, nodding.] Yes, thank you. [She doesn't mind sharing.]

[He pours her a glass of water and hands her a spoon for the soup. The bread and jerky are on a plate in between them, next to the cup of soup.]

It's not much - I've never learned how to make things from liminal space, so I only have what I bring back from a jaunt, or what other people give me.

[Pearl blinks at him, confused.] You can't? I can't either... [but armin is older so he feels like he should be able to.]

[He shakes his head, smiling a little as he tears off some of the bread.]

I can't. I've never been good at working with liminal space - I can't even make portals. I mostly focus on the network; I usually do pretty good with that.

Do you have to pick one? [Pearl munches thoughtfully on a piece of bread too.] I don't think I've learned anything about liminal space either... I-I can do some network things, though.

[Armin dips his bread in the soup, hoping it might make her comfortable enough to follow suit in eating the soup.]

You don't have to pick one. A lot of people can do some of both. But I can do more network things than most people who can do some of both.

What things have you learned to do?

Um... I can find people sometimes! Which I couldn't do back home.

That's very impressive! I know that one too.

[He starts on a piece of jerky, realizing that though he suggested the meal for Pearl, he hasn't actually eaten in quite a while.]

Are there any ones you think you want to learn?

I-I don't know. What kind of things can you learn? [she's pretty much being doing it by accident.]

All sorts of things. How to share your memories, or blend in with the locals, or to be able to communicate even when you're asleep. How to talk to someone on walkabout when you're on the jaunt, or the other way around. How to bring people back to themselves when they're infiltrating, or how to stay yourself even when you're infiltrating. And a bunch more too.

[A bunch more that he probably won't be sharing with her, as much of it is less innocuous and benign.]

Oh, wow... [That's a lot of things.] Um... I-I think blending in with people would be good, right?

I think so too. [He dips his bread in the soup again, taking a large bite.] If you want, I could tell you about how that works when we're done eating.

But we could do that sometime later too, if you don't feel up for it now.
