Easy, Matt... There's a lot here we don't know about. This sounds like the culmination of a lot of things in the past. We don't have all the information. I'm not saying this is a rational or measured reaction, starshine, but there's no reason to believe this guy would do this to anyone and everyone.

So I tried to cover Earth in darkness once, long story, I didn't actually want to, but then the ToQGers stopped me, and I died, and I got better, and I'm kind of retired from that whole being evil thing, you know?

And on other Jaunts I may have destabilized an economy (well, my infiltration did) or upturned an entire religion, but in my defense, the religion was just generating darkness and making people miserable anyway.
