I'm getting the feeling we were at least partly anticipated here. Can we get a run-down of which colors mean what and whether or not people expecting us is a good thing here? It was much clearer in Questing Country.

It's on your suit. It's a holographic display. It seems like it would cover some of the area around us, but there's not much to see right now for obvious reasons. It does show what kinds of programs are in the area, near as I can tell. It also looks like it's some sort of communicator, but I haven't touched that function yet.

But it also seems like if I tweak this correctly I might be able to use it to rewrite some code. Ideally I'd like to not test that on myself, but that may be my only option at the moment.

What kind of changes were you going to make? Er, from a layman's perspective. I'm not a coder. [He sounds apologetic about that.]

... Well first I need to see which variables are changeable. But giving myself more health or durability might not be a bad idea. There's no telling what we're going to come up against...

From what I hear, you might want to talk to the Rebels. Specifically the one who looks like Naoto - goes by SHIRO. [Yes, he knows. It's great, isn't it?] They were the one to recode themselves into a different faction altogether. Revolutionaries didn't exist before they rewrote their code to remove Priority.

I"ll see what I can dig up. I'm curious about the potential applications that sort of thing can have here... it would be like genetic engineering, but much faster, wouldn't it?

Sounds about right. Just be careful what you engineer. Unforeseen consequences here are even more dangerous than in liminal space.

True enough. Let's just not endanger people playing with things we don't understand yet. Still, there are experts on this stuff around. I'm sure it can be done safely.

True, but give me a little time and I will be an expert. There's no language I can't learn in a short period of time.

That's a useful trick. How are you at decryption?

It's more experience than anything. And not quite as good as I am at programming, but that's an extremely high bar. So I'd say very good.
