I suspect magic centaurs would have been more straightforward than what the producers were doing though.

Team sport seems like it would require much less effort.

Hard to say. Aside from the show, the only forms of entertainment that my overlay really remembered are the same three public domain audio books and walking in a park.

That seems like a rather rapid escalation.

Everyone was desperately bored, I guess. You can only listen to the Odyssey so many times.

The other two were Frankenstein and that Sherlock Holmes one where everyone’s wound up about the dog.

It's probably bad that I can see the train of thought there.

Though I'd expect more murder mystery plotlines. It's not like they valued anyone's lives.

Yeah, I thought the whole point of Frankenstein was that you’re supposed to be nice to your creations.

I once had an overlay who was an English teacher, so I can say with confidence that people are very adept at missing the point of stories.

Probably they just picked random stuff they wouldn’t have to license.

I'm not sure if that's better or worse than doing that to people for the sake of high quality programming.

THey didn't understand any of that old reading material, then.

They put on Les Miserables there, with a bunch of really popular actors. It’s probably safe to say they didn’t understand anything. Hell, they named themselves after Orwell as if he was pro-surveillance.
