Okay, the next time I say anything like ‘this will go fine’ about an upcoming jaunt, each and every one of you is welcome to come find me and punch me in the face. Oh my god.

If we find ourselves in the middle of one of Helena-san's novels again, I'm leaving. [Naoki likes his adopted mother's work. When it stays fictional, please. He thinks it's safe to say she likes it better that way too.]

This does remind me, though - on the likely safe assumption Circe was responsible for poisoning the sunscreen, I owe you a radiation antidote. I couldn't think of any way to convince her to take it herself, given the situation.

I never said they were bad books, I just don't want to live any more of them. Why did those idiots think Dr. Moreau was a how-to guide.

[Because, as Claudia was putting it, this was Dystopia Mishmash Hell. Naoki's still not convinced there's absolutely no connection between that disaster and Moebius.]

It was definitely radioactive. Fortunately, your intended target knew better than to use it after you got to it, but still. We don't have conclusive proof of that sort of thing following us back from jaunts, but broken bones have stuck around, so I see no reason to take chances.

True. At least they're going to have a harder time doing that again. [They haven't fully disrupted the system and Naoki knows it... but they did buy Home several years, by which time they'll be better equipped to push back if Orwell gets cocky again.]

That's a good point. I already got some to Thorne-san and her house guest during the jaunt - half-infiltrating is useful like that, and the baby was at risk enough without complicating things.

At least one of them does now. Granted, without me there to throw things together, best practice is going to be 'avoid it at all costs,' but that's better than poking the glowing goo with a stick.
leftbehindagain: (that's really stupid)

No kidding. It would look cool, but it's hardly worth the trouble.
