Raidou actually figured out something like that half a year ago? It's basically a memory autorestore and I think you ought to be able to use it even if you're not investigating if you set it up beforehand. Like, I think you pick a thing to trigger the restore as your contingency like, say, my boyfriend is in trouble or we went back to such and such a Jaunt world or something else and then you set it to do the memory restore.

At least, I think that's how it works. Raidou might be able to explain better.

Only in that being loyal to the empire was what gave him prestige, showed up his enemies, and gave him a chance to do what he was good at. I don't know that he couldn't have been turned, but it would have taken a great deal of effort and bribery.

I was thinking of going to see if I have retained his ability to make things explode at a distance, but while that might be very therapeutic, it might also just make me more angry, if that makes sense. I don't know.

For you do not know if you and Armin will be always on the same Jaunt--although I suppose if you are not and we return to the world of Bando and Paramo, you might be a good test case to see if these 'memory autorestores' [He'll just use Thorne's name for it, since he 'overheard' that part of the conversation.] will still work if the one who set it is not there. I could see how they would, but I could also see how they wouldn't.

[Eren doesn't mind him nerding out. He might not be very good with the Network but he's always happy to help people figure things out, no matter how accidental the help may have been.]

Or the Arcana might decide to do something with the Network that screws up the contingency, or who knows what else. Jaunts are too unpredictable to count on anything all the time.
