There are probably people I don't know around now, because I just got back from a dungeon before the last jaunt so! Well met everyone. I'm Pod, and I'm a Beast Healer, or what some of you would call a veterinarian. If anyone's companions get hurt or sick, I should be able to take care of them. Oh! And you'll be hearing a bit from my brother-in-fur Kiga on the network from time to time too.
[There is indeed a psychic grumble that definitely isn't Pod. Kiga isn't bothering with the effort of actual words, but manages to sound long-suffering and fond anyway.]
Anyway, I was Saya again last jaunt, and it reminded me that I wanted to learn more about healing people before I left last time. Tachibana isn't here anymore...
[Her voice goes sad and she trails off for a moment.]
Anyway, if you know about healing, I'd love to learn from you! Or science; I know that science is very important to the healing in a lot of worlds. In return, I can teach all about herblore, cleaning and binding wounds and the like, which is very useful in worlds like the last one, if we don't want to stand out.
The last thing I wanted to talk about was maybe starting a garden, to grow herbs and things. I know that it's easy to just create plants, but I also know that I (and many others) infiltrate a lot, so if it's something that only somebody who was infiltrating knew how to make, we'd be in quite a bind. There's preserved herbs too, of course, but fresh are almost always more potent. Does anyone want to help me with a garden?

Nothing stopping us from starting more than one, just in case, anyway.

So I'd be more than happy to help out.

[Then she brightens immediately.]
That would be wonderful. I could perhaps set up a little space beside the stable where people would know to come for their companions' aid, and to get things like wound wash and such when I'm infiltrating.
Could I come over and see it? We can plan what should be planted where together.

The door is just across from the workshop's, and a little to the left.

I can find it! When do you have time for me to visit?

You can come over now, if you like.

[Pod is thoughtful for a moment.] I don't know how to do that yet. I've barely mastered making plants and edible food. For a while, getting Kiga on the network so he could talk to people if he wanted was more important.
What would be the next step after creating food; do you know?

[Pod parrots that back, just a little mystified.]
Of course it would be the one thing that I'd never thought to need learning. Is it as if you're making the clothes, like spinning the fiber, weaving and stitching, only Liminally, or more like just making an object? I know that plants are much more complex than clothes, being living things, but they aren't much different than making any other object, once I got the trick of food down.

BECAUSE I HAVE BROKEN EVERY BONE IN MY ENTIRE BODY AT LEAST ONCE
also general knowledge of modern medicine from someone who sure as shit aint a doctor
so while i cannot provide healsies i can certainly provide SCIENCE
anyway sounds great
is there anything in particular you wanna grow
i'm more of a monster person than a plant person but lets see what i can do

And there's so many useful things! For willow bark, we might need to just create the trees, but I suppose we could plant them. And then there's rosemary, mints, meadowsweet, woundwort, healmoss, king's blood if we can get it to actually grow. Oh! And poppies, goldenseal--
[The list continues. And continues. There are a lot of plants that Pod would like to grow. Just probably not the one Marla is thinking of.]

okay that sounds absolutely baller
i think i remember a few berries from home that might be useful
also
have you considered the wondrous applications of
~marijuana~

Also I'm happy to learn about healing plants from other worlds! I'd like to make some of the things Saya knew about too.

like
you know the plants they make rope with
it's in the same general plant family, has the same leaf look and everything
also if you ingest it it makes you SUPER chill with the world
also also i used to have mondo pain in my joints like, on the DAILY
it still hurts but it's objectively less shitty now?
huh
no subject
Oh, I can mix you up a tea for the pain, if you want. Willow bark, Thalnian pine bark, meadowsweet and cat's claw. The last one is something Saya used a lot, but I was able to liminally create some and it's very effective.

[She pauses for a moment, laughing.]
And I suppose I should learn more maths; I remember more than one of my overlays hating them.

[She's not with him right now so she's got no idea that a lock of his hair has just popped up straight on its own.]
Since I'm a physicist, mathematics is an area I truly enjoy--I would be delighted to give you a bit more instruction there as well.
[His excitement over math is palpable.]

[She laughs.]
I think the maths I know are a little bit behind most people. Sums and measurements, mostly. So we'll have to start at the beginning, if you don't mind.
