We seem to be caught in some sort of siege. As we don't know how long we will be here, I would highly recommend taking inventory of what food, water, and other supplies we may have. From there, we may be able to formulate a plan.

That's why we need to talk to everyone about it now, figure out how much we have in terms of supplies, and agree on how to ration them - or at least on who should decide how to ration them.

I'm not very good with them, but they'd definitely be better than nothing. And even just scouting out where to find food or water would help, if we need to send somebody out to gather them. Not to mention scouting the numbers, positions, and patrols of those trying to trap us in here. Those will be useful whether or not we need to go out for food.

I am not arguing with that. I am simply giving out the information that I have training in dealing with going without food for some duration of time.

I can teach you a bit, they have the balance for throwing if need be as well. I know how to scout, and make maps so if that needs doing I am probably one of the more qualified here to do so.

S-sorry. I didn't mean to give the impression I thought you were arguing - I was just thinking out loud. [Literally.]

I'd appreciate anything you could teach me - but I've had training with knives before, and I'm really just not very good with them. [Or, you know, any other weapon he's tried.] I'll probably rely more on my magic in combat, and the knives will only be a last resort. S-so don't waste too much time trying to teach me.

All right. It would probably be a good idea to go scouting as a sparrow tonight, if you don't mind. They seem content to wait for now, but they could only be trying to lure us into a false sense of security. And we need to know their numbers and positioning if we're going to be ready to adapt to the unexpected. [The more they know about their enemy and their surroundings, the better they can plan and adapt to the situation, whatever happens. If they have to respond to a crisis in ignorance, it won't go well for them.]

And we'll need to figure out a watch rotation for tonight...

Oh! [Blink. He should have considered that, but he never had before.] I would think it's probably a good idea to have two people on watch anyway, but in that case, if it's all right with you, you can take one and we can split up the other.

Two on watch is wise, I agree. If someone wishes to share with me, I would not be averse.

It's probably better to just stick with people who are used to this sort of thing, if possible. Four or five of us could take 2 hour shifts.

...I usually don't sleep very much, I could probably take 3 hours, if need be. [Not knowing several of the newer Travelers, he's not sure which, if any, of them have experience keeping watch. He figures Riddick, Malik, and Mikasa are safe bets as far as that goes, though, so even with just them, they probably have enough.]

I would lay a few traps in that case, see what can be caught for food.

We would also be wise to determine the state of their communications equipment. If they're able to send for backup, we may find ourselves overwhelmed.

That's true. Maybe we can sabotage it - although if they have working equipment, it may already be too late.

It is possible. If so, we may be able to discover that in their records. It will not erase the message, but it will at least give us warning so that we can prepare, or find an escape route.

Hopefully it won't come to it, but if all else fails, we can probably just escape into liminal space.

It would be unfortunate if that were necessary. This place is fascinating.

I think you're right - if I understand correctly, this place has cultural and historical and even religious significance to them. So as long as we stay in here, they'll probably stay close, but far enough to avoid a conflict.

My guess is that they'll wait for us to come out, because they know we can't stay in here forever.

True. But we have abilities they won't be expecting, or able to predict. Hopefully, it'll be enough.

You said earlier that you don't have any weapons - what are you familiar with?

I've had very basic training with rifles, blades, knives, and unarmed combat. But... I'm not very good with any of those. For the most part, I'm used to fighting with two blades using a very specialized piece of equipment, my three dimensional maneuvering gear.

Someone else from my world showed up last unarmed liminal space, though, and he's better with it than I am, so I gave it to him.

Are these weapons we've been equipped with similar enough to the blades you're accustomed to for you to wield them in a similar fashion? I do not fight with bladed weapons at all, so you are welcome to mine if you'd prefer to use two.

Thanks, but... they're not too similar, really. And I'm not really good with blades on the ground, or against someone my size - it's not really what I trained for.
