Hello, everyone. [Though overwhelmed when he first returned, now Armin is calm and composed - nearly solemn, almost military in the way he goes about this. He doesn't enjoy this task, but he takes it very seriously.] I'm sorry it took longer than usual, with everything that happened. [Being sent on a different jaunt, not knowing if he'd see any of his friends ever again.] But... I have the list of people who vanished over the course of the last jaunt and haven't come back.
[He takes a deep breath, then begins the list - slowly and clearly, with a small pause between every name.]
Damian Wayne. Jason Todd. Neria Surana. Lucina. Ryuunosuke Ibuki. Sanosuke Harada. Connor Graham. Labrys. Nick Burkhardt. Phèdre nó Delaunay. Oona. Ken Amada. Junpei Iori. Yoon Yoorae. Chizuru Yukimura. Inigo. Takakage Kobayakawa. Janos Audren.
...
I'm sorry. If anyone has any questions, I'll do my best to answer.

...Thank you for checking, Armin.

Alcuin, will you be alright? Do you want me to come find you?
no subject
I will be all right. Phèdre has gone and returned before. The last time she went home. I cannot begrudge her that even if she did have control over it, which she does not.

[There's a long pause, loud as a shout to someone who knows him, before he answers.]
No. Thank you, Sera. You are very kind. Is everything all right with you?
no subject
Okay, but please let me know if you change your mind. I'll... I'll be alright. It's sad, but she wouldn't want me to cry.

[Neither here nor there, but it gives her an opening if she wants it.]

[Still, she'll give it a couple hours and then if he hasn't come by she'll go find him. Just so they can cuddle and be close, and don't have to feel so lonely.]

[He won't come looking for her, but he is in his room, curled up on the window seat staring unseeing at the world "outside". He will silently welcome company but will not seek it out.]
[Action]
Oracle of Keys. A good meeting.
[Sera gave Alcuin a reassuring smile.] This is Mote. I brought him back with me.]
[Action]
Ah... Welcome, Mote. It is a pleasure to meet the companion who assists my comrade. I hope that we may prove as close friends.
[Holding out his hand, Alcuin offers it as a perch for the moth, or to pet him. The ferrety, foxy creature curled up in his lap chrrs a soft welcome of her own and Alcuin can't help but smile.]
Forgive my rudeness. Mote, Sera, this is Félicité, my friend and familiar during my time as an Oracle. I no longer hold those abilities, but she has remained with me regardless.
[Action]
[Sera steps over and takes a careful seat next to him, close enough it would be easy for them to both shift a tiny bit and end up cuddling with each other.]
I don't have those powers anymore either, but Mote said it doesn't matter. I don't know whether he thinks I can get them back, or he's just trying to make sure I don't start acting like an Adversary, or if he's just happy he didn't get left behind. He's right though, it really doesn't matter that much.
[Action]
[Félicité seems disinclined to move from her cozy spot, but she lowers her head to sniff Mote in a friendly manner and then looks up to stretch over Alcuin's ankles toward Sera. The same unreasonably pure white as his hair, she looks like she's probably long enough to drape over someone's shoulders like a stole if she wanted.]
I am under the impression that Félicité followed me to make sure I did not disappear. [Again, according to her.] She's very protective of me.
[Action]
[Sera reaches down and lets Félicité sniff her before she begins gently scratching and petting his furry head. This was nice. Always so much better to have company when missing a friend.]
Re: [Action]
[Alcuin falls silent, watching Félicité stretch and tilt her head till Sera was skritching a different spot. She sighs, a soft, high-pitched little sound, and her Oracle huffs a quiet laugh.]
You seem to have found precisely the best place. She thanks you and says that she may come visit you from time to time if you are so kind all the time. Selfish creature.
[Félicité flicks an ear at him and cracks an eye, but doesn't bother to move, too busy enjoying the attention.]
Re: [Action]
[Speaking of Mote, he's currently made his way up to Alcuin's shoulder and is affectionately headbutting the man's cheek for affection. Two can play at the making the other Spirit Companion jealous game!]
Re: [Action]
[Now it's Alcuin's turn to laugh, and he reaches up to fetch Mote onto his hand, holding the moth close to his chest like a bewinged kitten, stroking his fur and examining him curiously. He's never seen a moth at such close range, let alone one so large. Does Mote like being scritched along the thorax?]
Somehow I think they will work it out together. Felicite and Marzocco are good friends.
[After another moment fondly scritching the moth, he glances over at Sera and asks softly:]
How are you holding up?

In the meantime we will do our best to remember and uphold the values they fought for and with luck they have returned home and left this place for good.

After a long moment, he offers what he can, though he knows it's of little use.] If - if you need anything... even just someone to talk to... [He trails off, a little helplessly.]
no subject
[It takes an effort - more than he's comfortable admitting - but for a moment there's the sensation of fingertips brushing Armin's hand.]
Thank you. If I am in need, I will seek you out. I know where your room is located. Unless you changed it this time?
[Humor is difficult when inflection is limited.]

Then never fear; I'll not forget.
[He won't try to find anyone this time, but he will be spending a little more time in the window seat of his room this liminal space.]
