Hello, everyone.
I'm sorry if I alarmed anybody this last jaunt. For those of you who don't know what happened, I started as an investigator - and, two weeks in, abruptly became an infiltrator.
I'd been trying to delve into my mind, to gain access to the memories I knew I had from the last time we were here. I guess I succeeded a little too well. But, well... I think I could do it again. Turn into an infiltrator. And I think I could probably do it to someone else too, if they were willing. [Strangely, he's not going to address whether he thinks he could do it to an unwilling subject, and instead leave the implied answer as is.] More than that, I think it's probably possible to do the opposite - to turn an infiltrator into an investigator. But I haven't figured out how, yet.
If you have any questions, let me know.
Apart from that, I... I have the list of Travelers who are no longer with us. Wherever they are now, they're not in this liminal space. The list may not be quite comprehensive, but I did the best I could.
Jack Badd. Lila Zarchov. Batman. Mason. Ryuzaki. Natasha. Souji Seta - or, um, one of them, anyway. Erwin Smith. Dargor. Shuu. Mai. Dorian. Winnifred. Hijikata. And Pitch.
I'm sorry.

But... Yeah. That explains a lot.
Might as well let folks know. Chariot got me.

[Naoki's lack of reaction to Kanji's announcement is probably indication enough to anyone who knows them well that they've already talked about this.]

[Kanji takes a moment to think it over.]
Now ya mention it... There was one, before the exposition, that just about ran into me. Didn't exactly stop and chat, but...

[He wasn't himself. He had no ability to choose the way she had. It wasn't fair. But then, life was rarely fair.]
Do you want to talk about it?
no subject
Thanks. I ... I'm pretty okay with it. I mean, I'm kinda pissed that the Trump didn't stop 'n talk, but ... the stuff the card stands for? If I got grabbed for that, I'm tryin' to take it as a weird kinda compliment.

[There's a laugh.]
Welcome to the club, I guess.

It is very Wild Card, and especially very you.

Uh.
Yeah. I'm tryin' to look at it like that. If they're goin' for someone who's determined, who gets shit done, and they think I'm that kinda guy... heh. There's worse reasons to be picked.

However, you are that kind of person, Kanji-kun. You always have been. You're driven, you get an idea in your head, and you go out and do it. I've always admired that about you.
no subject
Y-you have? Thanks. That ... hell, that means a lot to hear from ya. Even if I've got the potential... it ain't gonna mean anythin' if I don't put the work in. That's kinda how I see it.

[She has guesses about different results that different Inaba Travelers have, but no facts to back them up.]

[He's stuck for words, there, a little bit.]

[They all really need to sit down and talk about their relative cases one day.]
You are probably one of the most determined and focused of us all.
[A tiny mental teasing snicker.]
When you want to be.
no subject
Well... there's no point gettin' sidetracked when we've got somethin' to do, we weren't gonna solve anythin' sitting on our- oh, come on, what do you mean 'when I want'?
[Loud and flaily, perhaps, but there's no outright anger in it. Just laughter and surprise.]
no subject
I meant exactly what I said, Kanji. Sometimes you are a bit... unfocused.
[Such as the few times he slept through IT meetings. And class. She's obviously teasing him.]
no subject
[He sounds more exasperated than anything, as far as mental tone goes.]
But, I mean, there's a time 'n a place, right?
no subject
I seem to be incapable of finding the times to relax.
[She's mostly making fun of herself.]
