Okay, so... now that we're all back together and everyone knows who they are again... or, well, most of us, anyway...

Who here was a Manticore Knight? And do any of you know what the hell happened to Tim when he was infiltrating? There weren't that many of them, he was one of them, and his body was full of bullet holes in their morgue, so someone has to know.

He volunteered to be scanned for spirit possession by one of the Exorcists. That's what the Knights thought the infiltrators were--people possessed by spirits. It was supposed just be a demo but it...went wrong. Specifically, the Exorcist scanning him identified Dr--him as possessed.

I think that was more because he started struggling too hard during the exorcism...and because he was enough of a jerk that no one involved was very invested in him surviving the attempt.

Oh. Great. But... just scanning him shouldn't have been enough to screw with his head, right? Especially not now that he's not infiltrating anymore.

What'd they do after they found out he was possessed? [ Pause. ] Besides shoot him about two hundred times.

I don't know. I wasn't an Exorcist. But Psyche and Embargo did attempt an exorcism... I don't know how far into the attempt they got before shooting him though. That might explain whatever happened to him?

So much for loyalty, I guess. That might explain it, though. It's not like anything else does...

They didn't find you too, after all of that?

...It was a public demo. All the Newport Knights were there. Plus a few of the Squires.

No, I mean... One of their Knights was possessed. They didn't go on a witch hunt and scan all of you after that? Exorcise everyone just in case?

Oh, I'm sure they tried to scan everyone. Probably not as publicly, though. I guess they ran out of time before getting to me.

The one who exorcised him was Mako Adams. I wasn't there, but the guy was paranoid enough to exorcise himself, so I don't doubt he freaked out over Drake being possessed.

I don't know who that is, but I'm guessing he didn't come down with a case of amnesia when he tried it on himself.

Definitely not, but he did manage to kick the Traveler in him out and even she didn't suffer from amnesia...

So it wasn't the exorcism by itself that broke things. Maybe the problem is that it got interrupted.

[ She pauses for a moment, then adds, quiet: ] Thanks for filling me in.

Sorry I couldn't be more helpful. Mako's powers were a bit of a mystery even for my overlay and he never really asked about them.

It's okay. At this point, I don't know how much the actual details of how they worked would help anyway.
