rubbish lion who can't deal with things yay

[Well, at least there's one person on the network who isn't yelling. Far from it, actually, though he's always in the mood for a fight. But today, Hamilton's mental voice is a little woozy. Tired-sounding, really, and certainly it's not because he hasn't been sleeping the past few days. That would be completely ridiculous.

It's rare that he asks for help. But this month, he might need a little, if only as distraction.]

Okay, folks. Book recommendations, if you got any that I can read around here. Or if there're any about wherever y'all are from. Or, hell, I dunno, I'd appreciate a loan of a quill and some paper. I gotta do something, and there ain't a treasury to mind or a newspaper to run here.

Well, the mystery genre is, in part, about unraveling the solution to a crime alongside the detective who's solving it. In the "noir" subgenre that Chandler writes in, it's about a very personal identification with the detective's emotional state, which is why I call it a drama as much as a mystery. I do think you'll honestly enjoy it if you enjoy the character of Phillip Marlowe, and it's a rare man I've heard of who doesn't.
