Drizzt Asks Important Questions

This is Drizzt Do'Urden, and I have a simple question: what does one do in Liminal Space beside read books? It is too small to have anything left to explore, unless one tries to scale the wall.

[He does not sound frustrated, but in a good general mood. Drizzt seems more amused about it than anything, and he figures someone will have a good answer for him.]

I ask because I am afraid boredom begins to strike at my heart with my blades still for so long, and I need something more to combat it properly. Perhaps one of you has advice?

The Trumps base their appearances and general demeanors on a type of divination with a long history on many Earths - a type of playing card, actually, referred to as Tarot. Each of the Trumps appears to be a major arcana, the trump cards of the deck, which usually are taken to symbolize a certain point in a journey. For example, the bone clocks are pretty clearly related to Death, the midpoint of the Tarot cycle. The card usually refers to change and rebirth rather than literal death, but it's still covered in skeletal imagery. I have no idea what the snake scales are about, though, unless it's another rebirth image.

[She'd be using props and images to break up all this dry exposition, but sadly she doesn't know how to project images over the network.]

As for my offer...currently, my only reliable summon in this Space is a kind of infernal goat man. They're very stupid, but there's an infinite number of them and they just come back when you kill them anyway.

And the puzzles I make...well, I like to present practical mysteries. How was this thing accomplished in this way, how can I leave this room without getting carved up into little pieces, that sort of thing.

I cannot truly answer questions about why the Trumps do anything. But they are most likely...conceptual beings. Ones that transcend normal physical descriptions. Such entities are often better represented by symbols than anything entirely material.

And I suppose I can hold off on the immense bladed pendulums for the sake of not offending your family's sensibilities.

[Or Liminal Space in general.]

I'll think of something. If nothing else, I can always borrow some of my apprentice's incessant font of riddles as well.

For a certain definition of god, I can't say that's not an accurate comparison. At least within Liminal Space.

Hm...well, in an ideal world, I'd know your whole story, your friends, fears, fixations, things like that. You'd also have to be pretty stupid to openly reveal all that to a witch, of course, so why don't we stick to your specialty? What is your strongest skill?

Oh, a dragon? That's one I haven't encountered. I mainly deal with demons and the occasional angel.

Clearly, physical challenges are something you've overcome enough of. I think I'll stick to the theater of the mind.

Well, I'll see what I can come up with, then.

[That's a very ambiguous statement considering its cheerful delivery.]
