Missing gryphon [OPEN | Backdated to during the opening log]

HEY! If anybody finds a black gryphon hatchling, uh, please bring him to me? I can't find him!

[She's trying hard not to sound worried, except it's failing a lot, because not only does she sound worried, she sounds panicked.]

... or a black anything, really, cuz last time he was a six-limbed mutant thing, so I guess he could be something else. But I want to make sure he's not drowned or on a pirate ship or anything, okay? So just-- you know-- let me know!

[So what everyone should be looking for, in fact, is a little black monkey. He can swim perfectly well, and he'll probably be making quite a squall. He's just too far from Neeshka for her to hear him.]

On the up side, he wouldn't drown. He might even be a flying fish.

Not at all! The fish near Seheron nest in the mangrove trees during mating season. Nasty little bastards - a school of them can flay an ogre to the bone inside of thirty seconds.

Let's hope your friend isn't one of those.

Never heard of it. I'm from a sunny little world called Thedas - magic, dragons, and all the darkspawn you can shoot. Not all that different from Dolorosa, really, except it isn't as friendly.

I used to think my grandfather was a demon. Turned out it was just digestive troubles - a bad poisoning in his youth. Word to the wise: if a carta member you're in hock to offers you a drink, don't drink it.

[There's a gloss of tension underneath the flippancy. Demons are traditionally Very Bad News, after all, though having seen the overreaction of some of the Chantry's finest, he's not entirely certain how seriously he should take her explanation.

For all he knows, that's her world's way of explaining magical ability.]

True, but you'd be surprised just how few people who get themselves in deep with violent criminal organizations have common sense.

I'll keep an eye out for any strange black creatures. Maybe we should find him a collar when you get him back. Something nice and distinctive. With bells on it.

When you put it that way, messere, it all sounds incredibly disturbing.

[And always has, but he rarely admits that outside of flippancy.]

I'm sure someone here knows how to sew.

Ask someone who can bring along souvenirs. There are a few people who know that trick.

Gold spends everywhere. Sometimes, you just have to find the right sort of moneychanger. And as for here, where there's ships, there's commerce.

Just don't let on you have a hefty purse until you get the lay of the land, so to speak.

Messere, in a place with limited supplies and few healers, a stable potion can be worth its weight in gold.
