Arcana-talk time [A day or two into the new liminal]

We're still assuming that the liminal space before a Jaunt represents the Arcana competing in it, yes? I know someone's mentioned this earlier, but it definitely needs to be highlighted-- I think it's pretty obvious this time that the contest will be between Chariot and Tower. The giant wooden horse running through a thunderstorm really couldn't be more blatant. For once.

So if that's right, it'll be a contest of motion and persistence, versus dramatic change and catastrophe. I think it's easy enough to decide who we want to support, in this case. We'll just have to find ways to make sure we see what sort of conditions make for a win for each ideal.

Any ideas for what to look for and how to keep things from devolving into a catastrophe? Those seem to happen a lot when we're around, unfortunately.

No, I'm not. You're advocating for going in and doing whatever would result in a win for the power you personally think would create the universe you personally would most want to live in. Just because no one's offering you riches and glory doesn't make you an altruist.

Miss, I'm going to guess you're fairly new to this. But as Travelers, this group of people have been making decisions about worlds and the people on them for years now. Usually we try to find what we think is best for them, when we visit. Generally we do not think chaotic, destructive change is a good idea, and the fact that there is a particularly troubling Arcana who stands to be removed from the contest isn't likely to change that fact.

It does, however, appear to be the only thing that is making you upset about the idea that not letting a world fall into chaos is a good thing.

I'm not even a little bit new to people clinging to the idea that they're the ones who're best equipped to make choices for everyone, and that the little people affected by those choices aren't significant.

Until and unless someone offers me an actionable plan as to making certain that none of the Arcana take their prize, I am afraid I have to continue as if one will. Which means, as awful as it is, we are the ones forced to make that choice-- whether or not we are the best equipped or the most deserving. If we do not, that prize will go to whichever Arcana is the most ruthless or the most cunning, and that will be bad for all of the universes.

Think poorly of me if you must, but it doesn't change the facts that these are the rules we are working under. I am not going to stand aside and let the more powerful and less moral beings make a decision that will affect a multitude of worlds if I could have done something to influence that decision in what direction I could.
