Arcana-talk time [A day or two into the new liminal]

We're still assuming that the liminal space before a Jaunt represents the Arcana competing in it, yes? I know someone's mentioned this earlier, but it definitely needs to be highlighted-- I think it's pretty obvious this time that the contest will be between Chariot and Tower. The giant wooden horse running through a thunderstorm really couldn't be more blatant. For once.

[He's not great at understanding symbolism, but damn if this wasn't an easy one.]

So if that's right, it'll be a contest of motion and persistence, versus dramatic change and catastrophe. I think it's easy enough to decide who we want to support, in this case. We'll just have to find ways to make sure we see what sort of conditions make for a win for each ideal.

Any ideas for what to look for and how to keep things from devolving into a catastrophe? Those seem to happen a lot when we're around, unfortunately.

How much has Hajime told you? About... how things almost ended.

That he nearly won the whole... game or contest or whatever it was, for ending the world, until Kenzaki turned into an Undead as well and refused to fight him, so the world could... continue existing, I believe?

Normally, the Undead who wins the Battle Fight gets to recreate the world with their representative species being dominant.

Joker's victory... resets everything. Even though Hajime didn't want to end the world, his will was ignored, and creatures were born from him that began the world's destruction. Everything he had gone through, the humanity he had gained... none of it mattered, in the end.

Hajime's spoken of some of his infiltrations being the worst parts of him. If the Arcana are the ones who decide if we're ourselves or not in other worlds, I have no doubt that the Tower would choose to override Hajime's will, and place him as someone who would be more willing to carry out Joker's purpose.

Oh, neither do I. They all do it. Tower's even done it before. So we keep an eye on him and curb what tendencies we can during the Jaunt, and be ready to give him support afterwards.
