And what exactly is a ninja? I have heard they are warriors whom have mastered the arts of stealth and combat.

[He's pretty sure that his training is better. Which isn't necessarily a good thing, considering most drow that receive that training are evil. Which may explain the ever so slight hint of skepticism in his mental voice.]

You aren't wrong. Ninja are those who utilize subtlety and stealth to overcome challenges.

[He hears that skepticism... but Yakumo has his own biases, and so he's assuming those are shared.]

They may be old-fashioned [and lame. so, so lame.], but I believe there's still a place for them in the world, and among Travelers.

Indeed, they do. There are many a time where stealth has been the difference between success and failure. Being able to hide at a moment's notice or quietly take out an opponent without alerting others is incredibly useful, regardless of the technology around you.

There are times where hiding is the most useful thing you can do. [thank you kind stranger for being in agreement with him] You sound like you're already familiar with the concepts.

Indeed. Sometimes it is best to hide and avoid a fight.

From what little I have heard of ninjas, many of the lessons in stealth are similar to those that drow teach their fighters. ... Although I'm afraid that the techniques would be used in hunting and ambush, not avoidance. Still, I find uses in them.

I'd be interested to find just how similar the lessons might be. [and whether or not any 'drow' lessons might give him an edge over his teammates - always competing, they are] We might be able to learn some things from each-other.

I'd be happy to show you some of it, but if it is anything like the other 'skills' people know here--you may find yourself quickly knowing all of it. And perhaps the same in reverse, if you were to show me.
