We've lost a lot of people lately who could either de-infiltrate people or bridge network divides, if not both. They're both useful things to have more of around, so if anyone wants pointers on either, I'm willing to help. This includes some of the building blocks, but not all.

That's the other half. Bridging turns that seeking skill toward finding a weak spot in the barriers between parts of the network, and then punching through that spot.

So how do I do that seeking?

It's basically using the network to find the presence of someone's mind. It only covers about half a kilometer to start with, and I haven't figured out how to find more than one person at a time yet.

...so it's like following the network communication to the other person's physical location.

What do you mean by "to start with"?

It's possible to expand the range further, though that's more useful on jaunts than in Liminal. Liminal is big, but has a boundary sooner or later. Jaunts have spread us out pretty far before.

So... [And she's thinking aloud now] detecting them is just following their communication home. So it only works on one person at once because you have to focus them.

...And bridging is more of a system based them thing. Does it help with t to know someone who is on the other side?

I've never noticed it as making a difference one way or the other, especially at the beginning of a jaunt, when there's no way to know who's where. The bigger problem with bridging is getting more than just you on the line - you have to sacrifice time to do it, but that can be a lot more convenient than relaying messages the whole time.

[What is this mythical thing called patience? Or, in other words, how long does it take and is it worth it?]

It cuts into about half your usual time, and I can't tell you what your usual time will look like since it seems to depend on how much you can do with the network.
