Also, they make good stocking stuffers
Okay, I know there's a lot going on at the moment...
[what with dungeons, walkabout fallout, whatever the hell's going on with that penalty box...]
...but I just wanted to give anyone who might be interested a heads-up that Infoglasses are now available on a first come, first serve basis. I figure I can make maybe three a month to start with, so if anyone wants a pair, let me know.
For anyone who doesn't know what Infoglasses are, they're basically glasses that double as a portable display for computers, TVs, and other devices. They've got wi-fi access, provide their own hotspot, and have a massive photographic database onboard, so you can use them to look at a given object, compare it to similar objects on file, and pull information about them from the database. They're Spark-era tech, so... pretty advanced.
Anyway, I'm around if anyone wants a pair.

I'd ask if you could modify a specific pair of glasses, but I also don't know if that'd interfere with their current functionality, so it's probably better to skip that.
no subject
Yeah, it might be safer to go with a duplicate pair.
Just let me know if you decide you want a pair later down the line.

If I knew enough about how Teddie made the things, I'd make you a test pair, but... I don't, really. He just started pulling them out of thin air after we had trouble with the TV fog.
I will. Thank you.

Yeah, I don't want to chance screwing up your only working pair.
No problem.

Could maybe use some help with enhancing my memory - I've got some old photos on my camera and no idea about the Jaunts they came from.

It might not be a bad idea to start digitizing records of some of the worlds we've visited for portable access, if some of the more technologically minded Travelers can work out adding information to the database - and securing it so that some local can't pick them up and find proof of the multiverse, of course.
no subject
[She thinks for a moment.]
Adding to the database shouldn't be a problem for Travelers with programming skills. As far as security goes... they're more secure than systems from most of the worlds we've been to, but they could probably still be hacked by Spark-era tech. Luckily I happened to keep my programming skills from that era so I can program in some countermeasures, but it's definitely a potential concern.

So only the intended user has access to the database? Maybe...
[She can probably program something like that, but she may need some advice on the best way to implement that.]

Well, ok, not literally twelve, but I do want one, please. Do you think you could duplicate a specific pair of glasses if you had a picture of them?

Although I do have a question for you. Allura mentioned you being good at tech, and I've been trying to figure out a way to create a biometric key for these things. Would you be willing to help with that?
no subject
[White lies. She's super excited and eager but actually can wait.]
Oh! Sure. That sounds super interesting and I'm already coming up with ideas... I have a lab at Helena's rooms if you want to come by.
