[several hours after Cassandra's post]
[Alcuin's voice is full of an icy fury that he's trying, and failing, to conceal.]
Avoid the color shifting rooms at all costs. If color magic is used there, all surfaces immediately shift to the matching color and lock into place, opening an adjoining adjustable chamber. In addition, all color magic of that color used in that room is doubled, at the very least. Thorne and I have both tested this.
Unfortunately, [spoken as though through gritted teeth] even destroying the contents lasts for no longer than the space of a blink. The Illuminants' influence is upon that place, and likely whatever poor, unfortunate world we next visit.
Which brings me to my next point:
Should you see anyone dressed solely in a single color, even if they are different hues, be extremely cautious of them. They are likely to be a powerful mage perhaps nearing the power of our patrons. They displayed themselves as weaker before, but depending on the timeline it is possible that now they are a great deal stronger.
There are eight of them: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, Violet, Rose.
Each has a different theme, and different emotions which govern their actions. Each has a positive and a negative aspect. I strongly suggest entering the Library tower and ascending to the first floor. On the shelves immediately to the right of the door on the lowest shelf are several treatises on Color Magic, the Illuminants, and the world in which we have encountered them. I have been host for the Yellow Illuminant twice now. I will eagerly answer any questions you might have.

[Locked away from Maria, Rosie, Tara] (cw: suicidal ideation/murder)
So.
I would like to request that should anyone see me dressed all in yellows, do all of us a favor and kill me with extreme prejudice. Do not attempt to befriend me and then kill me - that is part of his ouvre and will therefore warn him of the impending attack and empower him both at the same time. If you can strive to be as furious as possible, that will help, for that is Red, not Yellow, and he cannot draw upon it.
I will return, as Travelers always do. Do not allow him to roam unchecked.

[This one's voice is New. It's a chirpy mezzosoprano, but there's real fear and real anger in there.]
Agreed. If I need to, I'll hit you fast and hard.
...That said. Do the Travellers have any means of casual resurrection, and if you do, what are the side effects?
Hi, my name is Deedee, I'm new, I want to help.

Yes, they can hijack people, though there are certain requirements for them to be able to do so, most of which involve a particular location.
But to answer your other question... yes. There is a method, though not a particularly pleasant one. Our hosts do not like to see their game pieces put out of the game. So they regenerate our bodies while keeping our minds intact. If one dies in liminal space, one's body is swallowed up by the floor itself, which then wraps the corpse in sticky strands of liminal matter and reconstructs the missing or damaged body parts. The mind may or may not resume consciousness partway through this process. If one dies while outside of liminal space, one simply appears in liminal space several hours to days later, fully intact and newly conscious.
I am sorry that you had to join us at such a hectic and negatively tinged hour, my lady.

Private
(There is, perhaps uncharacteristically, a moment of hesitation.)
Should it come to that, you have my scythe.

There is a particular ritual involved for inhabiting another host, and you can fight it. Each Illuminant and their power comes from a Source, as it were, each to their own and reflective of them - or perhaps vice versa. Regardless, if you are captured by one of these mages, portal out if you can, or call to the Network. We shall be there.
Open > Psychic Protection I
[It seems like he's going to leave it there, for a few long seconds.
But then a thin but sturdy layer of private protection goes up on his end and the words are coming out very fast.
Thorne is rubbing off on him.]Okay but like. Now I'm super paranoid about that fucking room and being possessed 'cos like-- I have a history? Of being fucking blanked out by semi-eldritch players to be a fucking toy? Do you-- can I ask you really nicely what the ritual is like? Is that an okay thing for you?

[Kinji doesn't even wear actual gold fabric as standard; most of his shine is in accessories. And Yakumo dresses like a casual businessman under the blue coat.]
An' I reckon folks're smart enough t'not think that us in armour is one a' those Illuminants.

...I guess I should put my name out there for someone who you probably shouldn't remotely trust if they actually show up too, then.[Since. Does anyone else here even know Orange magic anymore?? And even if they had, he's the only one who's actually met Orange.]

The last time we visited their world was the second time, a walkabout, and the Network remained functional then. If the Illuminants make another strike, I think the Arcana may respond by shutting the Network down, but until that is made clear, they may warily leave it open in the hopes of gathering more information about the Illuminants' whereabouts and plans. They need us as their eyes and ears.
