[several hours after Cassandra's post]
[Alcuin's voice is full of an icy fury that he's trying, and failing, to conceal.]
Avoid the color shifting rooms at all costs. If color magic is used there, all surfaces immediately shift to the matching color and lock into place, opening an adjoining adjustable chamber. In addition, all color magic of that color used in that room is doubled, at the very least. Thorne and I have both tested this.
Unfortunately, [spoken as though through gritted teeth] even destroying the contents lasts for no longer than the space of a blink. The Illuminants' influence is upon that place, and likely whatever poor, unfortunate world we next visit.
Which brings me to my next point:
Should you see anyone dressed solely in a single color, even if they are different hues, be extremely cautious of them. They are likely to be a powerful mage perhaps nearing the power of our patrons. They displayed themselves as weaker before, but depending on the timeline it is possible that now they are a great deal stronger.
There are eight of them: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, Violet, Rose.
Each has a different theme, and different emotions which govern their actions. Each has a positive and a negative aspect. I strongly suggest entering the Library tower and ascending to the first floor. On the shelves immediately to the right of the door on the lowest shelf are several treatises on Color Magic, the Illuminants, and the world in which we have encountered them. I have been host for the Yellow Illuminant twice now. I will eagerly answer any questions you might have.

Open > Psychic Protection I
[It seems like he's going to leave it there, for a few long seconds.
But then a thin but sturdy layer of private protection goes up on his end and the words are coming out very fast.
Thorne is rubbing off on him.]Okay but like. Now I'm super paranoid about that fucking room and being possessed 'cos like-- I have a history? Of being fucking blanked out by semi-eldritch players to be a fucking toy? Do you-- can I ask you really nicely what the ritual is like? Is that an okay thing for you?
Psychic Protection II - he's got u bro
I'm afraid that I have only ever seen one performed. They may each be different. But each of them will involve being brought into contact with the Illuminant's Source.
The room here is nothing like any of them that I know of. And if an Illuminant were possessing you, you would most certainly know. They would be in full control, but you would still be able to see through your eyes, feel what your body feels. It is... [there's a drawn out pause before Alcuin seems to shake himself out of it.]
Forgive me. It is unmistakable. I was forced to accept the Yellow Illuminant back into my body by the Orange Illuminant, who was, at the time, wearing Maestro Leonardo's body. If I had not, then he would have kidnapped Maria instead. Not that, it seems, that made much difference. She was host to the Green Illuminant instead. I was taken to the bank of the golden pool among the golden aspens, where the skulls of the fae keepers lay as gilded stones beneath the water's surface. I was made to walk into it, but I could have been unconscious and it would have mattered just as little. The waters hold the magic. Being in contact with the water turned my flesh to gold and the spirit in the waters took my body, forced my mind back, and washed the gold from my limbs to breathe the air and walk free upon the earth in the sunshine he so loved.
...The Red Illuminant has a cave shaped like an open dragon's skull. Orange I have never known. Green... There is a grand tree somewhere, I believe. Blue is likely a lake. Indigo, a hidden library larger inside than it seems from the outset. Violet claimed the throne of the kingdom. Rose I know not.
Psychic Protection II thank u boo
Okay. Alright, cool. Keep an eye out for spooky TARDIS libraries. Thank you. [He does mean that sincerely.] Maybe Phillip and Thorne know where the other two are, I dunno...
[Another moment of silence.]
Sorry. That. You went through that, and I made you have to think about it again. It sucks.
Re: Psychic Protection II
It's all right, Gil. Thank you.
