Seeing as it seems that any idiot who whines about it loud enough gets their way, who am I to try to keep morons without a wit of reason from getting their hands on red magic?

You all rely on magic to heal people so why not up your game to using it to kill? You won't even have to train all that hard to use it either! A couple hours and you'll be able to go to to toe with any opponent you meet in any world!

Because that's all you care about, isn't it? How easily you can manage to do something regardless of what the method is. Power is more important than being responsible with it. Who cares so long as you have magic to rely on, right?

If all I were interested in was power, I wouldn't use what I have to help anyone, and it's certainly not for taking human lives. I already acknowledged not having an actual first-aid kit on hand was lazy of me, and that's being fixed.

You're making an ass of yourself. I might agree about this particular mess, but there aren't many things we learn here that one person can be an effective gatekeeper for. And I say this as someone who has one of those things. I wouldn't be surprised if Kanji considered red when he got into this stuff, and he would've settled on a color well before you had any say in the matter, considering I didn't know he even had that kind of magic until we were in Misericordia.

Those of us who care, and there are a few of us, care because magic's not always going to work and technology's not always going to be there. I'm not saying don't be upset about this, I'm saying don't let your anger get away from you.

I do not believe it is the power itself that is the problem, but the ease in which someone may learn in this place what should take decades of effort to attain. I hold no love for wizardry myself, but if someone were so suddenly able to use weapons as -I or any other trained warrior may- the danger would prove the same without the knowledge and discipline to use them properly.

What is red magic?

It is a school of magic from the land of Dorolessa that focuses on combat and killing.

Specific spells include ripping people's hearts out at a distance, making someone's blood burn within them and cursing blades to inflict wounds that cannot be healed through normal or most magical means.

There is also summoning a dragon, but I am not sure that would work where there are none.
