So hi newbies, I’m Percy. I’m mostly harmless and like blue things and can breathe underwater… among other things.

Anyway, I’m gonna apologize in advance for whatever shenanigans my dad’s side of the family puts us through. They’re not all that bad, really, they’re just…. well, they’re gods. They don’t really get humans all that well.

Blah blah blah, my dad’s Poseidon and that might either really help us here or turn out terribly for me depending. I can help you guys with cover stories if you end up having to use your powers or whatever out in public, demigods aren’t exactly a new thing and if you say you’re one most folks probably won’t be too upset if you break something.

Try not to break things though, it’s not nice.

I can give folks pointers on do's and don't's of ancient Greek society too, though it's mostly "don't claim to be something you're not" and in this case... "Assume everyone might be a god in disguise, even the animals because Zeus is a bit odd sometimes" and don't take sides if asked to judge something.

At any rate, I figure the easiest thing for me to do is going to be just slipping back in to being Teleute. I don't see the sense in making up some cover story when I have a perfectly good identity in this era.

Also we should probably remind people that chitons are not togas. Those got a bit confused at some point.

I'll leave the explaining things about Greece to you. I was around at the time, but I was mostly in the Dream World. I spent most of that period arguing with philosophers from across the world and working on my own projects. Also, there weren't any actual Greek Gods running round, just stories about them, so I'll have to defer to you on those. I do know the stories, but there'll probably be some major divergences from this world if there isn't a Dream World like mine.

Armin here - I'm myself for this one, though I have an infiltrator persona. [Oh, right - he pauses as he realizes Percy wasn't around for that.] ...That's basically psychic skill where you can infiltrate while still remembering who you are. It doesn't always work, though, but when it does it's very useful.

Keep in mind that while your dad is Poseidon, he might not be this Poseidon. [He doesn't want to see you get on the wrong side of a god here - though the potential of having one as an ally makes the attempt worth it, in Armin's book, as long as he's careful about it.]

I can help, too. I'm infiltrating as something called a Heraclide, we're descendants of the deity of strength or somesuch. It's all rather silly, to me, but it seems we're a bit on the mean side. We've sort of taken over one of the cities. Do be wary of us if you run into any of us.

Regardless, that means I have quite a bit of insider knowledge now, since I'm infiltrating as a part of this world and I'm still myself. And I'll be keeping track of my fellow Heraclides as best as I can. A number of them appear to be us, and so they might wind up being important.

I would also request, for my own peace of mind, on the off chance that this is my world, that no one touch any abandoned objects without some sort of fabric on their hands. There are some quite powerful objects with very nasty consequences that can be hanging around.
