So, now that everything is going to hades in a handbasket... can I get out of Liminal and maybe save some lives?

Nobody deserves to be put in some eternal oblivion or shut away in Tartarus, not even the Olympians. Which, okay yeah I'm biased here because hey family, but...

Would you let any of this happen to some other group of people if they weren't gods?

I'd rather deal with Mobieus again, in all honesty.

But, maybe if we're lucky we can convince the Titans to just... exile the Olympian gods to Rome? Or whatever Rome is right now, I'm not sure it's really a thing yet.... just. Nobody deserves what's been done to them.

If they were human, would you be okay with what's been done to them?

At this point if it takes some of us revealing ourselves, I don't care.

I'm not okay with it whether they're human or not. I just want a backup plan, if persuasion fails.

We kidnap the Olympians and dump them in Italy?

... That's an okay plan. If it comes down to it, I'll help.

They will just come back. I am sure one of them can move faster than those metal flying machines. No, we will have to persuade them. Outright trickery is out too, as that will only anger them.

We can always try being honest.

Sure, as long as we hold some stuff back. I mean there's a difference between being honest and telling everyone everything. I kinda suspect that might not be the best idea here.

There are 'gods' betting on the outcome of this; our own fates are tied up in how this ends, and we want to make sure that, whoever wins, everyone is going to be all right.

Some of the best lies are seasoned with truth. What, in theory, shall we be honest about? Being foreign? receiving gifts from gods? making the Achaians our first concern? I assume that we are putting them before ourselves, however much we might want to come out of this in one piece. Otherwise we have no place in these negotiations.

Yes. We'll be leaving their world soon, but they'll have to work with it forever.

This is why I am wary of large, concentrated efforts on our part. In our limited sight as visitors, what we believe to be good may be harmful instead. But I think we can agree that the Achaians should not pay the price.

Only if it's a bad trick, half the time the only way to win anything is by being tricksy in their book.

Falling for a good trick is worse than playing one on someone.

We will need to be clever regardless, but any harm befalling them can be seen as an act of war, no matter the source. This is a unique conflict. If some of us begin to speak to the gods, calling for peace, we are forced to make many of our actions in the light, despite being Travelers.

I don't really see why that's a problem? You can still get people to do something without being a shady asshole about it.

By being Travelers, we must always hold a little information about ourselves back. It is not in the interest of being an asshole, but for the sake of gaining the trust of the people of this world. They will not believe us if we say that a deck of playing cards kidnapped us.

Then we don't tell them that? There's a difference between actually lying and simply not telling people everything.

I don't usually tell people I can breathe underwater, I just let them assume I'm good at holding my breath.

I mean, Altair's right. No matter if something really happened, if it's weird enough people won't believe you.

In my experience if it's weird enough people just convince themselves it didn't happen and move on with their day.

I'm saying that we don't have to sneak around eternally playing shadowmasters about things.

Indeed, showing our powers in this world is not so strange to their eyes.

It is all a form of lying in the end, but this is semantics. Simply, I do not want to leave the seeds of another war when we go. We must think about our next moves very carefully.
