do you believe in magic [cw: truthiness]

Hey folks, Ambrose here. I know the other day Elphaba was asking after magic users to learn stuff from, but I was wondering... does anyone else want to learn magic? Who's willing to teach it? Maybe we should get together and do a big ol'... workshop? Exhibition? One of those things.

[ look he's been in the champagne a bit, it happens. ]

Basically everyone who is okay with teaching their particular stripe of magic can show what it's capable of, and anyone who wants to learn can shop around. We did this once a while ago, sorta, but I think it's time we do it again.

There's a kind of magic that mostly deals with anger and it's mostly for combat?

[No she doesn't want to learn it she wants the exact opposite]

Yes.

Anger, passion, conflict, war, blood, fire and dealing with dragons are the general themes of Red magic. True, there are some spells that are useful for information gathering or survival but for the most part...they are for combat.

Usually lethally inclined combat at that.

However, it is no more good or evil than a sword or firearm is. What matters is the reason and intent behind the wielders reasons for using it on another creature.

But if you combine it with anger that's just asking for trouble.

Uncontrolled anger, yes.

Anger with control and direction can reshape a nation away from the control tyrant. It is a fine line however, and one that more than just those seeking red magic should be aware of.

Anger and control... don't really go together. Unless you mean having the control to not do something when you're angry.

Or the control to direct your anger towards accomplishing a goal.

Social change is not born of happiness.

It isn't. But there are some powers that just aren't meant to be tapped in anger. You can think it's for the greater good, but it gets into your head. No matter what you meant, some things can only be safe when calm.
