Well. Yakumo's come to terms with the Travellers being a strange and unpredictable bunch. At least here, now, he's ready to talk about something much more reasonable:]

How many people here have studied Colour Magic? [definitely a more normal topic. Somewhat awkward, a little abrupt - as if he's only just had it pointed out come to the realization that he can ask other people what they did.] And which Colour did you decide on?

I chose Blue Magic. Both because I knew I had a reliable teacher and because I felt it fit me the best.

[That's a small bit of pride leaking through the psychic connection. Blue is Yakumo's image colour, and things assigned to it tend to be good.

But he tamps the pride off quickly, shaking it off. Bias shouldn't get in the way of choosing a path of magic to study.]

But ... I guess, especially back then, I liked the idea of somethin' tied to 'hope', and the nature side of things was pretty interestin' too.

Did you already have an affinity for animals prior to learning the magic? [because, you know. every time he sees you there seems to be an animal involved.] Or was it something that you grew used to afterwards?

Not that I'm aware of. [He's saying that very carefully. He'd eyeball you if he could.] Is there something about them that hasn't been recorded with these books?

I'm a Rose Mage? Actually, I'm the only Rose Mage around with Sera out of ambit. I picked it because I liked its key concepts--love, vitality, sensation, optimism, all those good things--and at the time I really wanted more of them in my life.

Plus, I just like the color as a color.

I'm not the least bit surprised. [given you know. EVERYTHING. It explains why she's so fixated on his love life--] I feel like I'll regret this, but... the way that the colours interact indicates that they're all of equal standing, however Rose seems to be the least objectively useful in any general situation. It seems like a spell set that would only provide aid in very specific scenarios.

[The way his mental voice lilts towards the end there indicates that it's something of a question. Yakumo's thoughts on Thorne are... rocky, especially given that she probably has an entire phone filled with photos from the last Jaunt -- but Rose has been confusing him for a while now and well. This is the only Rose Mage. He doesn't really have any options here.]

I'm a Green Mage! I'm Green 'cause I was Green when I was in Misericordia! But I'd be Green anyway because it has animal spells! And flower spells! And it lets me talk to skeletons!

Do you like animals that much, Maria? [HE'S DEFINITELY NOTING THAT. maybe he should get her a huge stuffed animal, kids love huge stuffed animals right?? Elena does, it usually cheers her up after he's upset her] And... skeletons...?

I picked Blue. It seems to work well with what I have - and I have a cantrip that makes water, so I can make an elemental with the water I summon. Plus, any attacks that I use that deal with cold won't bother me, since I'm immune to the cold.

... A lot of what I learned was kind of by accident, though. There's a lot of different spells you can use, it just kind of depends what way you go with what you learn.

[Water elemental sure is interesting. But Casper sounds a bit too... weary, right now. And he hasn't forgotten that the guy is apparently a demi-god. Yakumo hesitates for a moment - not everyone has the stamina or drive he and Kinji do, he reminds himself.]

I'd be interested in seeing that elemental at some stage. How well are you able to direct it?

I was the Red Illuminant, so that magic was chosen for me.

What, you wouldn't have chosen magic channeled from anger and bonds of loyalty if you'd had such a choice?

I was interested in learning Color Magic because I wanted something I could teach and I wanted to explore a new magic system.

Indigo was the natural option with that reasoning.

Does it compliment other magic systems well, do you think?

A system of magic recorded by some Travelers, native to a world they visited. As far as it seems, with some diligent study anyone can learn it.

Orange magic here. I think it's the best, but I have been informed not everyone agrees with me on that.

There are a few more Blue mages than I was really expecting... It's quite a versatile magic, it seems.

Ahaha, I'd be remiss if I didn't chime in as one of our Yellow Mages. I'm a tad busy at the moment, but I wrote more than a few details down in my library if you want to drop by later...
