I know I can't be the only one what's noticed this, but I gotta ask.

Anyone else wonderin' how Hermit an' Death seem t'have both won?

Um. Maybe Beatrice figured out that her son had been living with the Forest Folk for the last two decades? Because that was definitely a thing.

That's not so much about herself, but I think the shock of situation may have made her realize a few things about how vile she'd been acting.

Alternately, uh, one of my Infiltration's friends came out? But then again, I think maybe she'd figured out what she was before the Jaunt. So that might not count either.

Ugh. I don't suppose that someone who's got Hermit or Death could try to ask them?

Me and Maria were going to ask in that direction, but ...do you think being their marked is very important there?

It might help? I mean, in getting their attention, if you're trying to make them bring you to their conversation space. If you're just trying to bust on over there by using liminal skills to bridge the divide between our space and theirs, it probably doesn't matter as much.

I could always hit up ROSE for a chat. A nice word puzzle would be a treat at this point, and I'm sure that's what she'd give me in response to a question, assuming she's still keeping an eye on Hermit's progress. I might save that until after a few other things on the agenda, though.

Oh shit, Magician and Hermit are teammates?

She "helped" get him back in the game during the Grid, as I understand, but I haven't the faintest idea whether that was a permanent arrangement, a temporary alliance, or just Magician spiking someone else's wheels. I should probably ask regardless...

That's the white furred animal, right? That one's mine, but I don't know how to get in to talk to him again. Our first conversation wasn't very useful, anyway.

Yep. That's Hermit the Dog. I think he might need a Dog Translator along or something.

That's stupid. Why take on a form that can't communicate and then grab people to come talk to you?

Unrelated, surprisingly enough. He'd been looking for a successor for a while, he knew he was probably gonna be dead in a few months from old age. That he got to do it with the whole 'uniting the amulet and making a new golden era' thing was just fucking fantastic timing.

Hopefully they can come to some sort of understanding, even if it's only mutual avoidance.

Yeah, I hope so too. They're both sensible people, though, so I think they've got a good chance.
