I know I can't be the only one what's noticed this, but I gotta ask.

Anyone else wonderin' how Hermit an' Death seem t'have both won?

Well. Maybe something you guys learned was what Hermit wanted. I'm not him, though, so I can't say for certain, but I bet anything that was, like, particularly hidden or esoteric knowledge could have been the thing he wanted.

[ he listed the likeliest things. ] I was going to say where Beatrice had hidden her pieces, but that was a mundane sort of secret. Hardly the work of hermits, monks, scholars, and philosophers.
