Late in Liminal Space

Hello, darlings. We have had quite the difficult last couple excursions, and I think we need a bit of a break from all of the gloom.

So, I would propose a celebration when we find ourselves in our next Liminal Space, as, if I do not miss my guess, it is close to the end of the year. I know there are quite a few Winter Holiday traditions represented among us, so why don't we use that?

I personally would suggest a fancy dress ball of some sort, masked or not. We have enough of us who have the skills to create decorations, food, drink, and clothing, that I believe we could come up with quite the party if we put our heads together.

There is absolutely no need to be so serious all the time, so let's have a bit of fun. Please let me know if you would be able or willing to help with anything, or if you have any ideas of traditions we could participate in. Even if you cannot help, absolutely everyone is invited.

We have them, yeah. Don't remember the last time I was at one, though, and I think there's different sorts... but I can give it a go for ya.

I'm thinking of a particular kind of clown costume - not like the cartoonish slapstick clowns, but one of the characters from the harliquinade tradition? She's got different names and I don't expect any of them to carry over - Dustdove is one of the more common ones for her in the circuses I traveled with.

I mean not that you probably know much clown lore. Um.

Basically a full skirt - white, usually lace or tule? - and matching soft neck ruff. Like big enough that it's almost more of a capelet than a collar. And the bodice is patchwork, bright red and... well, deep indigo for me. That bit would vary depending on who's wearing it.

Sorry I'm not really used to describing costuming to outsiders.

Doesn't sound like any character I know. But harlequins sound familiar. I think I'm gettin' the idea... [He stops for a moment, manipulating up a sketchbook to make notes and draw the dress up as he sees it.]

That's pretty close! I wish I could do the projecting memories thing, there was a girl in my troupe who had a gorgeous Dustdove dress...

It would probably be easier if I come find you, yeah?

Yeah, that'd probably work best. I can meet you in the workshop, does that sound good?
