A Couple of Questions [Post Greek Jaunt/Carousel Liminal, Day 3]

[Someone was a nerd and has been thinking about this an awful lot before asking his questions. Which might be noticeable.]

My greetings, fellow Travelers. I have two questions to ask of you.

Firstly—what transpired during the last Jaunt? My Overlay was not... privy to most of the details.

Secondly—and perhaps more personally—are there others Marked by Astræa—by Justice? I am curious.

... I am afraid I do not follow. [Drizzt is a ranger, not a merchant. Also, that would require him to actually be more civilized.]

I can't tell you much about what happened, Iona's family was too... normal. But I'm one of Justice's.

Mine I suppose was normal enough to be in the dark as well.

I think it's the first time "too normal to know what's going on" has ever happened to me.

I think Justice went for the Jedi thing.

I know the dryad girl I was, one of her... dads, I guess... he got turned into a god. So there's old gods, really old gods, and new gods? I don't know, it was confusing.

Also, I'm with Justice, too.

Anything with gods is by its very nature confusing.

Another! I was beginning to fear that I was her only Champion.

Where I come from originally there's only one. God, I mean. Or that's what I was taught, anyway, I mean there's other religions, but technically none of us have ever seen our heard from our gods, so it's really... really different than that Jaunt.

I'm Jolie. I kind of like Justice, even if this whole kidnapping thing sucks.

I was involved in the fighting in Athens and the earthquake relief, but beyond that, I think that other people might be able to give you a clearer picture of the goings-on.

...did I mention that I'm marked by Justice, too? I might have meant to, and then just didn't bring the conversation around to it.

I remember the earthquakes well.

Members of an older pantheon got fed up with the way those in charge of the existing one were handling things and decided to make a new one.

... That explains much of what happened.

I suppose I should be happy that during the Time of Troubles back home when our pantheon was thrown from the heavens, only magic stopped working properly.

Technically I think only two of them got thrown anywhere. But yeah, it was kind of a mess. They ended up having a big meeting to figure out how to go forward.

A lot happened, most of it probably avoidable.

Is that not the truth of most conflicts between thinking beings?

Depends on what you consider 'thinking beings'.

Just... one group's version of fair wasn't the same as another groups and enough people were willing to just... steamroll everyone to get their way regardless of who or what they were running over.

I think most people have gotten you up to speed on what happened. But... are you okay now?

... I'm not with Justice, by the way. I appreciate the concept, but it's not the one that picked me up.

I am all caught up! Or at least enough for now. I am good.

Justice was the only choice for me, truly. She picked me on my very first Jaunt, my very first week! That is a bit of a story that is better told in person than over the network.

If you do not mind me asking, which Arcana chose you?

Hmm... I got picked up by Moon. I guess it makes sense... kind of.

There's nothing I can say about the Jaunt that hasn't already been covered... If you want further details, it might take a while to get through it all.

I'm also Marked by Astræa, however; Yakumo "Cloud" Katou. It seems like there are more of us than I expected. Did you have an opportunity to meet with her?

I may wish for further details, but I believe those are best recorded in a book somewhere to prevent a constant retelling. Altaïr gathers knowledge about each world, compiling them for all.

It is good that there are many of us, I think. And I have met with her three times. Once, when she was in the guise of an elf and originally chose me. Secondly during the challenges when the Arcana chose the rest of their Champions. Thirdly, once when I asked to speak with her about some matters. You can speak to her if you need to—she does not mind.

Divine politics. For once, the actual conclusion was mostly people talking things out, which I think made a nice change from the last couple of times we had a revolution and I shot someone in the head.

Also, if you meet a girl with purple hair and a cat tail with the same Mark as you, don't trust her.

Ah, divine politics. No wonder the world was in such horrific shape. At least they found the ability to achieve peace in the end.
