[As far as tone is distinguishable on the network, that's muttered, and very, very frustrated - but anyone who remembers Misericordia probably understands. When Naoki resumes, it's at a much more normal volume and tone.]

Anyway, we might as well get a check-in going. This is Naoki. We are definitely not in Harrogate, unless something went very, very wrong with Earth's climate since the last time.

If it turns out we're missing a substantial chunk of people, I can try reaching out to the others later this week.

It might help that the local dragons seem to have a more diverse defense pool than just fire.

...I'm not sure if that's a comfort, exactly. Acid? Am I hearing that right? There are a lot of people with pretty thick gloves out here.

A pretty mild acid, from what I can piece together. Also electricity.

Mostly it means these definitely aren't the same dragons as last time.

I'm starting to wonder if we're supposed to keep this place safe from something. That's three people now who've asked me if I'm going into security.

Poaching's been an issue in the past. It wouldn't surprise me if there are still people doing it. A market doesn't go away just because its main commodity got outlawed.

Poaching dragons. That's a great idea. Well, at least I know what I'm mostly looking out for.

And yet it's probably not the stupidest wild animal humanity's ever had the bright idea to smuggle somewhere. Somehow.

Definitely something I can get behind. Know anyone with a background in animal rescue? Guerrilla warfare we have, but I've never had to wrangle a dragon before.

I think most of the facility's focused on dragon-wrangling, so there's no shortage of people to ask. I... kind of doubt the stuff I know about the last dragons I ran into will help much here.
