Holiday Reminder

Hey guys! I started trying to figure out the date again and realized something important. Since we had that month of Liminal weirdness that changed the Jaunt schedule, it shooould be about the middle of February. As much as that means anything here. You know what that means!

...well if you're from modern Earth, you know what that means. If you're not, it's Valentine's Day! It's a holiday for spending time with someone you love and sharing candy with them. Also with friends and family but maybe that's just a Japan thing. Either way, we can do it here.

Anyone who wants to try and make some chocolate, come meet me in the Workshop kitchen. Or...if no one's interested, can I at least get someone who can make ingredients? I need to make a lot of chocolate this year...

Anyway, go out and celebrate with people you love! If you don't have someone you love, celebrate with your friends! If you don't have any friends, I'll be your friend! Let's give PSYCHE-chan one more celebration before we start the next round, okay?

Oh. Uh. Sorry! I forgot that some people were really mad at the Arcana. I totally understand, though! Although other than hit on my boyfriend I don't know what Lovers did specifically...

No-one told you about the Automata, huh. She buddied up with Devil and filled the Grid with crazy virus people and all sorts of crap... The place was totally screwed up 'cause of what she deliberately did. This ain't like just dumping Travellers in and having us set shit on fire.
And ... well. Goin' by what Cairbre told me, she basically goes around watchin' everyone's kissin' and - uh, private lives for kicks. Yeah, that's how archetypes roll, but ... I dunno.

...but I kinda figured the second part. I've been uh...showing off a little more since Souji told me she propositioned him, see how she likes it. There's some point where people are god-like enough you just have to roll with them being weirdos, though.

Short version is, Hermit decided 'screw the game' and did a runner to the Grid, just wanted to hang out there with friends. The virus shit was revenge or something like that which would keep him trapped but also screwed over everyone in that system. He wasn't innocent, sure, but the level she took this stuff to... ugh. The place was a mess after it.

As for what the hell it has to do with love or bonds... beats me.

And eh. Maybe. But ... I don't think that actually doin' shit in her archetype is gonna piss her off any if that's what you're goin' for.

From what Elphaba-san said after the jaunt, that marriage was a lot more binding than either of them intended, considering they did it to maintain a cover story. Between that and the Automata thing, she's done plenty.

That sounds like someone confusing reality for a romantic comedy. Like it's still wrong, but it's on a different scale.

I suspect he refers to several things - one of which was the binding properties of a marriage meant to be of convenience and farce.

There are other Travelers who begrudge her the jaunt wherein she first appeared as well.

....Many things. I was infiltrating at the time, so you may wish to ask Naoto for a more unbiased accounting.

In barest facts, the Valentine celebration wherein participants bared their souls in confessions of love to other students was sabotaged so that the letters went to all the wrong people. The student government was, I believe, blackmailed, and several convoluted tales of love were forced upon infiltrators to be lived out. Travelers' relationships were damaged, and some have yet to recover. There, also, a marriage was performed between two Travelers, and while they wished to be married, I think the officiant was no less surprising to them than she who lead the other. School activites were sabotaged, intense rivalries and dramatics erupted at every turn. In the end, Naoto discovered the perpetrator of the difficulties.

A more candid assessment from me might read 'it was a blasphemous nightmare.'

Just to be clear, I'm not defending that or Lovers in general, but was that something under her control, or just how that world works? Because stressful as that is, that's kinda how a lot of trashier high school dramas work where I come from.

Okay that... definitely sounds like a messed up nightmare. I'll have a word with Naoto about this as well, but your opinion of the Jaunt definitely counts a lot, Alcuin... and I'm sorry you needed to go through that.

She is no different than the overly ambitious priestesses of Menzoberranzan, who use and manipulate those they can for their own gain. She did not deny that we are slaves, nor does she care what becomes of her toys when she's done with them.

...I see. Well, if that's the case, I feel a lot less sorry for her. I still believe in the things she supposedly represents, but I'll stick to promoting my own Arcana from now on if I do that for any of them.

I've met a few gods who claimed to be doing stuff for humanity's own good before. I told my friends how to beat the crap out of them. Trust me, I know.

That definitely doesn't make my opinion of her any better. All she said to me was that winning would make her in a mood to be generous...

She offered the same to me. Placation, nothing more. A way to get us to cooperate without a fight. I have known countless like her. While she lacks in the outright viciousness of a drow matron, she is far too similar to ignore.

Well, she's out of the game, so at least you don't need to worry about her too much. I don't think she has much business with us now.
