Backdated to the day after Alcuin's dungeon
So, uh, is there, like, anybody here who knows medicine? Or at the very least someone else who knows first aid? Healing magic won't work. Magic anything won't work. It's kind of complicated. Or maybe not that complicated?
Well, okay, basically it's that Imriel picked up this passive power negation thing when he was in Newport, which means that anyone in his immediate vicinity loses their magic. And you can't cast stuff from a distance on him either. Which is a problem, because that's, like, the main way people are healing things here.
(Oh, right, if you don't know, Imriel's one of the three youngest Travelers. You'll be able to recognize him because he's the only ten-year-old we have that's not Japanese.)
Anyway, uh, I found that stuff out today because I had to patch him up and my regular way of healing people didn't work and I had to bust out the kit. And then I thought, 'oh shit, what if I infiltrate next Jaunt, who's going to patch him up if he gets hurt then?'
So. Uh. Hopefully there's one of you? Otherwise, I'll see if I can teach people what I know just in case. I took classes from the Red Cross a few years ago, if you want my first aiding cred.

I know how to make an affogato strato, but I have no idea what the inside of a coffee shop looks like.

It's a form of retrograde amnesia called source amnesia. You retain semantic content - facts and methods - but not episodic memory, the events which those facts pertain to.
So, you know. Don't ask me how I know that.

Glad it's working out well for someone.

It's okay. I mean, I agree that it's fascinating. If this was a case study, it'd be a real page-turner.
But right now I think I am dating two people who I don't remember, so it's awkward.

... so is this a poly thing or a two-timing thing?

They're definitely dating one another. Very definitely.

... debatedly, I also sort of got a boyfriend that way, but actually it was more like we were really close as friends before and I was super crushed out on him for a while and I just didn't tell him about my feelings until we ended up married in Ancient Rome.
[In case anyone who'd been blind-sided by the whole love confession in Alcuin's dungeon thing wondered how it happened.]

Well, I guess it's an easy way to make new friends.
I don't think that's how it happened with my relationships, though.
