So, uh, is there, like, anybody here who knows medicine? Or at the very least someone else who knows first aid? Healing magic won't work. Magic anything won't work. It's kind of complicated. Or maybe not that complicated?

Well, okay, basically it's that Imriel picked up this passive power negation thing when he was in Newport, which means that anyone in his immediate vicinity loses their magic. And you can't cast stuff from a distance on him either. Which is a problem, because that's, like, the main way people are healing things here.

(Oh, right, if you don't know, Imriel's one of the three youngest Travelers. You'll be able to recognize him because he's the only ten-year-old we have that's not Japanese.)

Anyway, uh, I found that stuff out today because I had to patch him up and my regular way of healing people didn't work and I had to bust out the kit. And then I thought, 'oh shit, what if I infiltrate next Jaunt, who's going to patch him up if he gets hurt then?'

So. Uh. Hopefully there's one of you? Otherwise, I'll see if I can teach people what I know just in case. I took classes from the Red Cross a few years ago, if you want my first aiding cred.

Tell me about it. But I think it was either that, or save the Cassii family from penury. Ah, they were neighbors of my overlay and had lost a bunch and had to get their daughter married off to someone rich to avoid bankruptcy.

The Terran Alliance primarily reserves place names for their ships, and names planets and moons for people and pieces of mythology.

Ohhhh. Right. Well, I mean, Troy is also a given name so I get where we got confused. But, uh, there's a mythological Earth city called Troy that was also called Illium and that's what I was referring to with 'Troy Illium' and not someone's name.

It would be sort of like naming someone 'Troy Troy.' Which I guess means it'll be Emperor Emperor's next alias.

I would like to hear those myths some day - or read them, if they're written down somewhere in the library. My knowledge of human mythology and history remains somewhat patchy.
